Esthetician Tools: What the Pros Use to Make the Magic Happen

Estheticians use special tools to take care of their clients’ skin. These increase the potency of skin treatment and help to hasten cosmetic rejuvenation. Estheticians work in different environments from salons to medical clinics. They are in-charge of hair removal, facials, and similar procedures.

Each of them has their own preferences when it comes to equipment but certain types are nearly universal in the beauty industry. We list many of these esthetician tools below.

Tools for Assessment

Estheticians cannot do their job properly without proper lighting. The problematic spots need to be thoroughly illuminated so that they can assess the situation and decide the appropriate course of action. That’s why almost all professionals use a Wood’s lamp in their office. It is a special kind of equipment that is capable of exposing skin disorders like abnormal pigmentation, bacterial infections, and fungus through ultraviolet light. It will also confirm suspicions of oiliness, dryness and damage. The tool may be supplemented by a skin scanner and magnifying glass for better viewing.

Basic Skin Care

At the very least, estheticians will need an exfoliating brush, a streamer, a micro-derm abrasion machine, a vacuum, and a spray tool. These all have distinct roles. For instance, the streamer opens the skin’s pores through the warm vapor while at the same time softening the skin impurities so that they can be easily removed without causing damage. Meanwhile, the exfoliating brush is used to get rid of dead skin cells to reveal younger, glowing skin.

Skin Rejuvenation

In order to facilitate advanced skin treatments, estheticians depend on machines that can flatten the cellulites. These use infrared light to maintain the integrity of the collagen. Laser lights are also utilized in skin clinics to remove unwanted pigmentation. Strong pulses are directly at the pores to eliminate the source of the discoloration.

Laser is also a popular hair removal treatment as it has longer lasting effects compared to other available methods. LEDs often serve as the last light-based treatment at the end of the session. They make the skin look better and feel smoother to the touch.

Additional Esthetician Tools

Skin care professional have other tricks up their sleeves. These include waxes, applicators, cosmetic serums, and chemical peel solutions. If a client comes in wanting to conceal a scar or bruise, then estheticians can apply special makeup using advanced techniques to make it disappear. They typically use cream-based foundations to lighten the spot and small-tipped brushes to make refinements.

Evergreen Beauty College has all of these equipment and supplies, ready for students to use during their training. Students become very familiar with them over the course of the program. By the time they graduate, they are able use these estheticians tools like certified pros.
