Your Bridal Look: The Second Most Important Decision After Choosing Your Groom

When it comes to bridal looks, I am one that believes in a classic look rather than a trendy one. Looks of course will change over the years, but when it comes to how a bride looks on her wedding day, classic is always a great way to go and one that will outlive any trend–that goes for the dress, hair and make-up too!

Although I believe a more classy look will never fail, it’s always a good idea to add your own unique flare and style as well. With that said, what exactly does “classic” look like?

When it comes to make-up on your wedding day, you want to make sure your guests will recognize you and you still look like yourself, just a bit more dolled up. Soft shimmery shadows (nothing with too much glitter — remember you want the focus on YOU not your make-up), light pink or peach blushes, soft pinks or nudes for the lips, a little bit of highlight and contour, with bold lashes to add a touch of drama and you can’t go wrong with this look! And don’t forget the frame of your face — your eyebrows!

Whether you have decided to wear your hair up, down or half up, less structure (meaning not a ton of hair spray or TOO much backcombing — you’re more than likely going to have some amount of backcombing) should be a major guideline when deciding what to do with your hair on your special day. Other things to do take into consideration when choosing a hairstyle are your dress, theme and venue, time of year and perhaps even your groom’s preference of how he likes your hair 🙂 I personally wore my hair up for my wedding day because I knew that was how my now husband likes my hair!

Tip: if you are looking to add a little more volume to your look but your hair isn’t long enough or you have finer hair to begin with, hair extensions can be a great solution and something to strongly consider.
