Nail Technology Student Success Story: Jaden Akers
Our Everett campus was able to recognize a student in their Nail Technology program, Ms. Jaden Akers, for exuding successful and professional habits in school. Having fun and bringing excitement to all she does, I can not wait to share her story with you!
About Jaden Akers
“Nails have become my passion, even years ago. You see, I have always wanted to be a nail tech. Before school I was a stay at home mom for the past three years to my children, in which I have a daughter and son. I also dealt with serious health conditions that I needed to over come in order to start this new journey I am on. So when it came time to look for schooling and where I could see myself learning this trade I came across Evergreen Beauty College. One of the reasons I chose Evergreen was simply because I felt welcomed, motivated and driven to be my best self right off the bat. I feel in love with the staff and knew I’d do great here. Touring the school, I was confident there was lots to offer any student looking into this program so I jumped on it,” shares Jaden.
The Evergreen Experience
Since starting the Nail Technology program with us Ms. Jaden has shared some of her highlights of what she has enjoyed, what has helped her so far and what sets her apart from other nail technicians:
“One of the best things I’ve enjoyed about my program is that there is so much to learn because this industry is always changing. It never really seems to get boring either. We laugh a lot and love what we do each day which isn’t always easy to find in a school.”
“I personally love Evergreen’s Nuts and Bolts program which is the business curriculum built into Evergreens courses. I have also liked any assignments we were given where I’ve gotten to learn and understand real, raw facts about diseases and disorders of the nails so I can better educate my clients.”
“What sets me apart from other nail technicians would be my passion for the art of the nails and the knowledge I have of the disease and disorder I may encounter in my field. I’m a one of a kind artist and LOVE creating masterpieces for my clients. You will always find me with client or mastering a creative look on any nail canvas I can get! Having that knowledge of nail health gives me a better understanding so I can better protect my clients. In this day, we are always working to better the industry and educate clients on the nail health and sanitation which I am more than capable of providing. Your health is my top priority and your service deserves to be treated like a luxury. I am in this field to go to the top and make myself and my passion shine.”
The Next Step
As Jaden heads into the last couple of months of her program, she’s already thinking about the future. “When I finish school I will get to finally open my own shop and make my own name brand! I also can not wait to start a YouTube channel. Another long term goal of mine it to go back to school and maybe one day become an educator.” replied Jaden.
“Do what you love and love what you do. It may take time and courage but you can always do anything you put your mind too,” was the advice Jaden shared when we asked her what she’d like to pass on to any future students looking to start their own journey.
