Beauty School Review

Samantha Sauve at the International Business Student of the Year competition in Long Beach, CA. She took home 3rd place this year for Cosmetology!

It is so important to know the ins and outs about the right school and the right industry to capitalize on the opportunities. Below is a review from Samantha Sauve, an Evergreen Beauty College Cosmetology student who placed 3rd at the International Business Student of the Year competition in 2014, as she shares her experience and lessons she learned about an opportunity at her beauty school.

“The atmosphere at the ISSE Long Beach was super motivating and inspirational to me. It really opened my eyes to how big our industry really is. Just being in such a BIG building FULL of hair stylists got all of our creative juices flowing and ready to learn new things.

I didn’t realize how big the IBSY  competition was until we walked into the main stage room. There were so many people! And Jim Yates! I wasn’t really “nervous” until then.

I think the biggest thing I got from Nuts and Bolts was motivation to do my best and get the most out of the Cosmetology industry, as well as the knowledge and skills to do so. The prizes from the competition were nice too 🙂

My advice for future competitors would be to really put your all into getting your numbers up there. As nice as it was to win 3rd place, 1st place would have been great! Aaaannnd leave room in your luggage for your prizes when you win!!

Congrats again, Sam! Your Evergreen family is so proud of you!

I was seriously going to apply here then i read the dress code… this stuff is nonsense! Literally it says that if ur nails are painted there cant even be the smallest chip! And everyday you have to have ur hair nicely done and ur makeup “professionally applied”! And u have to be showered in the morning everyday! I mean i shower at night. Also, you cant have any piercings besides two studs on ur ears! My other ones will close! This is N.O.N.S.E.N.S.E.
