Best Kept Natural Beauty Secret

Today was Earth Day and I felt inspired to write about natural beauty and make-up tips. I was thinking of all the different organic skincare lines out there and one particular “product” kept coming to mind that does almost everything, AND just happens to be almost a fraction of the cost of all of those other products. It can be used as a body scrub, eye make-up remover, moisturizer, deep conditioning treatment for your hair, and even a cleanser!

Natural Beauty Tips

Coconut is one of the most versatile, all-natural products that can not only be used for cooking, but skincare too!

About two years ago I got sick of spending a lot of money on eye make-up removers and felt like many of them were either too drying or too oily and never fully removed everything. I had been really into Pinterest at the time and kept seeing pins about coconut oil, so I took it upon myself to pick up some Spectrum Organic Coconut Oil for a whopping $6.98. I instantly fell in love! (Side note: I still have the same jar from two years ago and still about a 1/4 left…you don’t need to use a lot!).

I am a licensed Esthetician and have been asked quite frequently, “what’s your best skincare advice” and I always say, “Coconut oil.” It is THE best eye-makeup remover (even removes waterproof mascara!) and doesn’t leave the delicate eye area dry afterwards, plus I always rub the excess into my cuticles. It was even my life saver when I was pregnant. I am very prone to stretch marks and was afraid I was going to have them all over as I progressed through my pregnancy. I simply mixed coconut oil with a dab of vitamin E oil and rubbed it all over my belly every singe morning….and voila! Not a stretch mark in sight – at least on my tummy anyway 🙂

With all that said, I strongly encourage everyone to try some coconut oil as a skincare product! Maybe you’ve got some in your pantry and never thought of using it as a beauty product, but go ahead, try it out and let us know what you think!
