Cosmetology Requirements in Washington

According to the Washington State board of Cosmetology, anyone who is looking to get qualified as a cosmetologist in Washington would need to meet the following requirements. You firstly will need to attend a licensed beauty school. You then need to complete the required amount of training hours and finally take your State of Washington Cosmetology board exam. If you pass the exam, you will receive your license shortly thereafter. You are now licensed to work in the state of Washington. You will also be allowed to work as an apprentice, to gain more training hours.

Licensing Requirements in Washington

You need to be at least 17 years old to get your cosmetology license. If you do not complete the minimum amount of training hours, you have the option of completing a state approved apprenticeship program to qualify for your license. If you are training to be a cosmetologist, you will need a minimum amount of 1600 training hours to qualify. If you complete an apprenticeship program, you will need a minimum amount of 2000 hours of work or training to qualify or proceed with your exams.
