Cosmetology Student Success Story: Bailey Cave

About Bailey Cave

Partial foil performed by Bailey Cave to brighten and bring a beautiful balayage back to life.

Before joining the Evergreen Beauty College family, Bailey graduated from Whatcom Community College with an associate degree. After graduating, she began working as a kennel assistant at a veterinary clinic. She quickly moved up to vet assistant position and was planning to continue her career and education as a veterinarian technician. However, as time went on Bailey realized she wanted a career where she could foster her creativity. Bailey wanted a career that was “more independent and helps people express themselves through beauty.”

Bailey has always enjoyed seeing media that depicted different services in the beauty industry. Watching the various forms of media from professionals and amateurs aided Bailey in her decision to enroll in the cosmetology program. “I also love to do different hair colors on myself, as well as do my friends and their family” says Bailey. She really appreciates that this profession gives her the opportunity to continue to grow and that there is a diverse variety of services that can be provide for others.

When we asked Bailey why she chose Evergreen Beauty College she shared, the location and the flexibility of doing onsite and online work while still working was convenient. She also really liked that Evergreen Beauty College offers the Nuts-and-Bolts course, which is a business building program.

The Evergreen Experience

Since starting her journey to become a Cosmetologist here at Evergreen Beauty College, Bailey has shared some of her favorite parts of the program. “I really love the opportunity that cosmetology gives me to meet an array of people every day, including clients and beauty professionals. I also really enjoy updos, lightening services, and men’s haircuts.”

Bailey is also a fantastic listener, and she believes this sets her apart as a cosmetologist. She says “I can translate what clients want done to their hair. I am also creative and can help present different options that they previously didn’t know existed. This allows my clients to have a wider variety of choices when it comes to hair. I am also polite, respectful, considerate towards others and understandable if you change the direction of what you want to do with your hair.”

Bailey also shares what has helped her throughout her learning. “What has been most helpful for me so far in school is when we have guest speakers that come in and teach us different services and techniques.” Another assignment Bailey enjoys is monthly Bingo sheets. “It advises us on what we should be doing for the month, and we can be creative with some of the assignments which allows us to try different techniques and services!”

The Next Step

As Bailey’s graduation date approaches, she has already begun to plan out her next steps in the beauty industry. “My career plans are still up in the air. But my plan as of now is to move and work at a salon and build my clientele.”

Bailey’s advice for incoming students is to take advantage of every opportunity you get at school. “Just remember you are still learning so don’t be so hard on yourself when things don’t turn out how you want them too. Also make sure you stay busy while in class and ask as many questions as you can.”

Bailey is set to graduate February of 2023. If you are interested in following her throughout the rest of her program, you can check her out on Instagram: @baileyleehair. Congratulations Bailey! Evergreen looks forward to seeing you follow your dreams! We wish you all the success!
