Cosmetology Student Success Story: Hannah Govea

About Hannah Govea

A beautiful icy blonde that Hannah crafted for her client.

Hannah has always had an artistic air to her but wasn’t sure how to utilize it. When she was working as a receptionist at a local salon, she found her passion for both the beauty industry as well as hair. “The stylists there let me watch what they were doing, as well as educating me on what they were doing, and that made me want to pursue cosmetology. Hair is my passion.” Shares Hannah. After meeting with an Admissions Representative, she was on her way. She enjoyed having a flexible schedule, as it allowed for her to have time in school, as well as continuing her passion within the industry outside of her school life.

The Evergreen Experience

Since starting the Cosmetology program with us Hannah Govea has shared some of her highlights of what she has enjoyed and what has helped her so far. When Hannah started school, she began learning color her first month and found that color was more of what she wanted to focus on as she progressed throughout her career. As she tried and learned different techniques, she found new favorites. “My specialty in my program so far would definitely be balayage and foils,” Hannah stated. When asked what she has found the most helpful so far, it has been the haircutting videos on the online platform. It has allowed her to retain more information on cutting hair, as well as learning new techniques to try, or different questions to ask in her consultations.

The Next Step

When Hannah graduates, her plan is to continue her journey at the salon she is currently at in Stanwood. With her expertise, she plans to grow her clientele and ensuring she can make sure her clients are happy throughout their entire experience. “I find that I am extremely friendly and outgoing. There’s not one person who I can’t make smile or laugh. I do my best to keep the client’s hair dreams alive for them!” When asked what advice she had for new students, Hannah shared, “Don’t be afraid! It can be scary starting at a new school, but we’re all great at getting together and making new students feel welcomed. Don’t be afraid to be bold and creative!”

Hannah is slated to graduate in March of 2023. If you would like to follow along on her journey, you can follow her on Instagram @hanitas__hair! Congratulations Hannah!
