Cosmetology Student Success Story: Natalie Bond

Our Yakima campus awarded one of their future professionals, Ms. Natalie Bond, this past month in their all school assembly. That adds an another award for this student for building her brand while in her cosmetology program.

About Natalie Bond

Like many others, Natalie had loved the idea of doing cosmetology but wasn’t able to make that commitment after high school. With time and education on her side she chose to follow her passion. “I have wanted to do hair since before I started high school, but it wasn’t necessarily the best option for my family. Therefore, I went to Yakima Valley College and completed my Associates in Arts. After finishing my AA, I decided to chase my dream and start my education in cosmetology,” Natalie shared.

Making that change can be hard for some but Natalie took a tour of our Yakima campus to get a feel for Evergreen Beauty College and what we had to offer. Sharing why she chose Evergreen, Natalie said, “I chose Evergreen due to the fact that it didn’t just feel like a school, it felt like a family environment, with caring invested instructors. It was an important factor when making my final decision.”

The Evergreen Experience

Since starting the cosmetology program with us Ms. Natalie has shared some of her highlights of what she has enjoyed, what has helped her so far and what sets her apart from other cosmetologist:

“This program offers so may different areas to love but for me personally I love that I’m able to transform people’s hair color, into something they’re absolutely in love with. I really enjoy bringing confidence and a sense of refreshing beauty to someone’s life. Also, any assignments that has been ‘hands on’ during my program has been the most helpful for me, due to the fact that I really learn best that way. If it gives me the chance to be ‘all in’ then I have found I enjoy it more than if I weren’t.”

“I feel as though one of my biggest strengths in school is color. To be more exact, I am extremely determined to specialize in balayage, and lightening processes.”

“Due to the fact that I connect with people on a personal level with ease, I would have to say this quality sees me apart from other stylists. When clients come in they aren’t just money to me, they’re a new relationship, a new challenge, and most importantly a new learning experience. Having my clients best interests at heart is something I promise to always have. I can offer honest, reliable work, that I invest in fully to achieve the goal that the client desires. I will do whatever it takes, including time, money, and TLC, to accommodate to the clients wants or needs!”

The Next Step

With Natalie getting comfortable in her newly learned skills we asked her what her plans were for after graduation, her response “After completing state boards and upon getting my license, I am planning on booth renting in Ellensburg Washington shortly after I graduate from Evergreen Beauty. Before then, I’d like to leave some advice for incoming students, and that would be to really focus on requirements and working hard while in school. If you work hard then you will get the best outcome of creativity and experienced professionalism. It will leave you that much more ready to step into the field feeling prepared for success,” exclaims Natalie.

Ms. Natalie Bond is set to graduate this coming August and what better way to support her other than to stop by our Yakima campus!
