Esthetics Student Success Story: Brianna White

About Brianna White

Prior to starting school at Evergreen Beauty College, Brianna has been working in the health care field since 2011. She characterizes herself as a busy mother of 4 who always wanted to work for herself. She felt she always had a “leader” aspect about her, and she knew she would thrive being her own boss.

Brianna said her reason for choosing Esthetics is that she enjoys making people feel good about themselves by providing services and taking care of them. She added, “I’ve always had a nurturing aspect about me. 2 – 3 years ago I enrolled in permanent makeup training and felt as if I needed this background in order to feel confident in my work and myself. The timing didn’t work out, and I came to Evergreen Beauty College to meet with the admissions team, but those plans didn’t work out. I’m so glad I finally invested in myself.”

We asked Brianna why she chose Evergreen Beauty College, and she had this to say: “Evergreen Beauty College is my neighborhood college, so it was only right to take advantage of the 7-minute drive. I know quite a few people who graduated from Evergreen Beauty College, and I’ve always heard great things.  Plus, my Admissions Representative was the best!”

The Evergreen Experience

Since starting the Esthetics program with us, Brianna has shared some of her highlights of what she has enjoyed, what has helped her so far, and what sets her apart from other Estheticians. When asked what she likes most about the Esthetics program, she said, “Honestly, I’m taking in everything. I love every service that’s been offered in the curriculum. My goal is to embrace all of what’s being offered so that later down the line, at least I will know if I want to offer a service or not.”

There are so many facets to the Esthetics program, and we love to hear from our students about things within the program that they find most helpful. Brianna shared that she really values the hands-on experience. She knows that she is a hands-on learner, and that she must do it no matter how much she reads or hears theory lectures. She has to do it for herself.

At Evergreen Beauty College, we encourage our students to find in themselves what their strengths and specialties are, as well as what sets them apart from other estheticians. Brianna had this to say: “I’d have to say facials. I love everything about facials. My goal is to have my client relaxed, comfortable and calm, and to leave feeling rejuvenated. I always strive to educate, and I believe my passion speaks for itself. I’ve always gone by ‘what’s for me, will always be for me’. I don’t worry about what others are doing. If anything, I’m always willing to learn from others.  That’s what sets me apart; knowing that the universe will always align as it should for me. I offer guidance and education with any service. I want my clients to know what they should expect, what they should do at home, and how often they should receive services. I never want my clients to not be in the know when they come to see me.”

Then Next Step

We asked Brianna what her career plans are after she graduates from the Esthetics program, and she told us that for now, her plans are up in the air. She feels she does not want to get caught up in having a “plan” and potentially miss out on opportunities or get discouraged because her set plan didn’t go as expected. Her goal is to have her own studio, and her 5-year-plan is to have a spa and provide opportunities for other Estheticians.

Here is some advice that Brianna shared with us for incoming students: “Be yourself. Let go of the fear of “what if no one wants to support me”. Promote yourself and start your social media business accounts.  Document your journey. Soak up all the knowledge of your instructors. Network. Never limit yourself. Build clientele while in school and run your spa days as if you’re already in business. I’ve learned so much about myself and it’s been an emotional journey for me. I’m so glad I took a leap of faith because this is the happiest, I’ve been in a long time.”

Brianna is set to graduate this upcoming May of 2022. If you are interested in following her throughout the rest of her program, you can check her out on Instagram: @skinandmorebybree. Congratulations Brianna! Evergreen looks forward to seeing you realize your dreams! We wish you all the success!
