Esthetics Student Success Story: Kellijae Apostolis

About Kellijae Apostolis

Kellijae Apostolis is someone that has had a deep love for skin and skincare for quite sometime now. When asked what prompted her to start her journey in the esthetics industry, Kellijae said “I personally struggled with skin issues after pregnancy, and that coupled with doing direct sales of pampering products started my love for the skin.” As her time went on, she started to realize that she was a natural at it, and wanted to get her Esthetics license.

She was led to Evergreen Beauty College through wanting learn about different ingredients and how they affect the skin, as aid in cell regeneration. Before and during her time here, she noted that she works in the health insurance world. After being recommended to the program by a friend, she started looking into the details. Kellijae says, “I chose Evergreen because it was recommended to me by my friend, and after reviewing the program details, and learning how the location was, I was excited to get started. Knowing that I can also progress onto the Master Esthetics program was key in my future goals.”

Evergreen Experience

Along with the trials and tribulations that come with being in esthetics school, Kellijae has her standouts that she loves about her program. She states, “My favorite part is really more of the concept of making others feel good, because I think we all need reminders to take some time for ourselves. But, I think my favorite part is giving facials, because I can help someone with melting away the stress of their day, and just having a moment for themselves.” We all need a gentle reminder that we need to be taken care of, and Kellijae takes pride in that.

When asked what she thinks are her strong suits, Kellijae said that her strength is what she loves doing the most — facials. “I love customizing the experience for each client, and being able to incorporate other factors into the facial makes me feel like I can really offer my clients an all-around experience of relaxation.” To set herself apart, she likes to look for more homeopathic treatment options, and likes to incorporate chi energy into her facials.

For assignments that have helped her the most was knowing what different skin diseases and disorders are. Kellijae says, “Knowing and being able to recognize the various diseases and disorders is crucial in esthetics.”

When asked what sets her apart, Kellijae was eager to share that she is pursuing Reiki healing, to be able to offer this to her clients as well. She also says, “I do research products frequently, so I can offer different product line recommendations that fit the needs and financial abilities of each of my clients.”

When asked what her advice was for future students, Kellijae wants to pass down this advice, “To all the incoming students, I highly recommend that you call upon your friends and family to support you in your journey. You can never prepare too early – so start making a list of who would like to have services done. This way you always have models ready and they will be the clients that will stick with you when you graduate. Also, jump at every opportunity to learn something new, and never turn down the opportunity to practice services on your peers. Set your goals high – you can achieve them! Also – set a goal to share something on your social media daily – and don’t forget to use those hashtags!”.

Kellijae is set to graduate in December of 2021, and was eager to share, “After I graduate the program, I have accepted an offer to work at Heather’s Powder Room in Granite Falls, WA. There, I will offer my services while continuing to find more educational opportunities to increase my knowledge and skills in the esthetics world.” If you’d like to follow Kellijae on her journey, you can find her on Instagram @divinity_skin_by_kellijae.
