Esthetics Student Success Story: Rin Gregory

About Rin Gregory

Rin’s client in absolute bliss as they enjoy a custom facial.

After graduating from Arlington High School, Rin spent some time at both Whatcom Community college and Western Washington University. Since leaving college, she has been a preschool teacher for the past three years. Rin has always had a love for skincare, but after experiencing a chemical burn on her face she realized that she wanted to help other people heal their skin ailments. “I choose the Esthetics program because I want to help people be confident in their own skin.

I’ve loved skincare for as long as I can remember, and I want to help people create a great routine that’s specialized towards their individual needs and goals.” Shared Rin. After hearing so many great things about Evergreen Beauty College from her friends, she decided to take the plunge and enroll in the Esthetics program at the EBC Bellingham Campus.

The Evergreen Experience

This client’s legs are summer ready after a wax!

Although Rin has only been in school for a few weeks, she is already loving the Esthetics program. She enjoys waxing, especially brow waxing, and can’t wait to learn more advanced facial techniques. When we asked her what her favorite aspect of her program has been so far, she said “I have loved facials and skin analysis the most. I love to be able to help people hands on and solve the mystery of what people need to help their skin. I also love learning about skin diseases!”.

The most helpful part of Rin’s experience at Evergreen has been learning about skin diseases and disorders. She states: “This will be helpful now and, in the future, to help look out for abnormalities a client may be facing that may need medical attention. A lot of these diseases and disorders, like melanoma, can go unnoticed for a long time. Being aware of what to look for can help save a client’s life.

” Rin sets herself apart by being very down to earth, personable, empathetic and trustworthy. She feels like those are the most important aspects of being and Esthetician. She loves making her clients feel safe, heard and confident during their appointments.

The Next Step

When we asked Rin about her goals for the future, she said she would love to start her career at a salon in Bellingham to further her skills and build a clientele. Eventually, she wants to open her own service room where she can do specialized facials and maybe even be a lash artist. When asked what advice Rin has for incoming students, she had this to share,” I recommend staying organized and up to date! The program moves fast and there is a lot we learn; I recommend setting aside extra time to organize papers and projects and to plan for the next week!”

Rin is set to graduate in January of 2023. If you would like to follow along on her journey, you can follow her on Instagram @RinGrace.Evergreen! Congratulations Rin! Evergreen looks forward to seeing you realize your dreams and we wish you all the success.
