Esthetics Student Success Story: Tavia Knapp

Sometimes I meet with people who would be a wonderful fit for our school and programs and they might even go to the length of enrolling. But something at that moment just isn’t right and the timing doesn’t work out. That doesn’t mean you won’t ever hear from them again or that they won’t ever pursue their dreams, it just means that they were not able to give it their all. And I respect people who can make that decision because on the other end, I have seen what happens when people start school and are not 100% ready to commit…they may end up withdrawing from school. For Tavia Knapp, Renton’s Digital Marketing Award winner for the month of October, had an experience very similar and we are thankful that she is willing to share part of her story and tell us her tips and tricks to being successful, not only in school, but for after graduation as well!

About Tavia

For Tavia, starting beauty school has been a long time coming…5 years to be exact. “I have always wanted to enroll in Esthetics. And I first enrolled in 2012, but I waited until I was ready to give it my all. And my boyfriend pushed me to enroll and said it was good timing to finally do what I wanted.” And as far as what she is loving the most so far in the Esthetics program? “I love working in the spa. Performing waxing, lash extensions and facials!” Tavia said.

The Evergreen Experience

Even after 5 years, Tavia still made the decision to enroll at Evergreen Beauty College, where she had originally enrolled at in 2012. I guess we must have made a good impression 🙂 “I liked how they are always striving to do better. And offer programs and services other schools don’t offer. They understand that we work and have a life too,” explained Tavia. We also asked Tavia what assignments have been the most helpful so far during her program. “I really enjoyed the brow shaping activities we did towards the beginning of the program on fake brows. It helped me learn how to properly tweeze and shape.”

We are so happy to hear that you are embracing the tools and curriculum Evergreen offers their students 🙂

The Next Step

Set to graduate at the end of April 2018, Tavia already has a vision and what she sees herself doing once she is done with school. “I want to work at a high volume spa or salon specializing in waxing, lashes and microblading. For a few years till I open up my own boutique spa, Tavia said. And I do not doubt that Tavia will be able to accomplish this goal. She understands the importance of marketing and social media and the differences it can make in running a successful business. “I am very active with social media so I’m easy to reach out to. With that being said, since I’m so tech savvy, I’m always on trend and trying to further my education.” Continuing education is essential to being successful in this industry and the fact that you understand that already, while still being in school, is very impressive, Tavia!
