How to Get More Subscribers on Your Makeup Vlog

Makeup Vlog

Beauty vlogs are becoming incredibly popular, and they’re a great way to make a personal connection with an online audience.

From sharing your own makeup routine to product spotlights, you can engage with viewers through a medium that enhances the visual impact of your makeup knowledge.

Here’s how to increase the number of subscribers to your vlog.

Post regularly

There are endless makeup tutorial possibilities, just to name one popular video format, so you’ll never run out of potential material. Regular content increases the number of people who might happen to see your video. Frequent posts also make you a reliable source of information and entertainment. According to beauty vlogger Teni Panosian (Miss Maven), “If you don’t put up content every week, the viewers will see that you’re not committed.” Viewers need to know that you care about your videos so that they’ll care too. If they know that you’ll be posting about mascara next Wednesday, they’re more likely to follow and tune in.

Do your own thing

Beauty is personal, and authenticity is key to ensuring that viewers are interested in you and your techniques. Don’t be afraid to let people get to know you; video is all about the connection that looking at your watchers creates.

According to beauty vlogger Michelle Phan, “If it’s authentic and has a great message, people will watch.” Vlogger Zoella goes so far as to say “I’m their virtual friend, and I share my life with them.” She also recommends being yourself. Your own style is going to be more important than whether you have a top-of-the-line camera.

Take your cues from your viewers

Take what your viewers are asking for in the comments into consideration when deciding on the topic for your next video (comments definitely have to be enabled–interaction makes you more than just a pretty face among other pretty faces).

Not every video needs to be based on a request, but viewers will likely tell you what they’d like to see–especially if you ask them or otherwise encourage them to let you know! By showing your viewers how to create that smokey eye they’re struggling with or which lipsticks you like , your viewers learn that you care about them and that their opinions matter.
