Makeup Schools in Washington State

makeup picWith everyone so excited about the possibility of a makeup school in the Seattle area, I wanted to find out exactly what it was people were so excited about with a career in makeup artistry! Luckily for us here at Evergreen, we have an Esthetics educator who also has a lot of experience working for different makeup lines, including Shiseido, Dior and Erno Laszlo. I asked her what she had enjoyed the most about doing makeup for a living and the first thing she said was, “the perks!!” As in free stuff 🙂

But really it is much more than that.

Cherie said, “I was shocked at how many women would sit down in my chair and admit they don’t know how to do their own makeup. That they’re afraid. And by taking as little as 15 minutes to show them that it’s not so scary. Then you would see them 3 weeks later buying a quad of eye shadow. That’s pretty cool.”

I personally have always had an interest in doing makeup and making others feel beautiful. I always found it to be a compliment when my friends would ask me to do their makeup when we would go out or for a special event. I cannot wait to see what Evergreen will do with the opportunity to open a much needed makeup school in Washington.
