Mayor Opens Military Appreciation Event at Beauty School
Just in case you missed it! Here’s what happened yesterday!
Evergreen Beauty College was so honored to have the presence of Mayor Ray Stephanson at our military appreciation event, Beauty Salutes You, on Monday, May 23, 2016 at our Everett location. Mayor Stephanson, a Vietnam veteran himself, opened our event with kind words thanking us for holding an event to honor and recognize our past and present veterans and their families. All the staff and students at Evergreen are so thankful for the appreciation, but for us, the real “Thank you” is for all the veterans and their families we held the event for. It was a privilege to be able to serve them.
Mariah Mills, a Cosmetology student at our Renton campus, said it well, “It was great to give back to the military and to share our talents for those that helped us and see that we could put a smile on their face.”
Our staff and students provided a total of 154 free services in 4 hours. The services included free haircuts, facials, and hand microdermabrasion treatments. Our guests were able to enjoy 80 haircuts, 44 facials, and 30 hand microdermabrasion treatments to be exact!
Our friends at Spirit 105.3, Jimmy Mac’s Roadhouse, Applebee’s, CRISTA Camps, Merry Makers Inc., and Green Mountain Coffee shared the stage with us to salute our troops and their families. They helped provide delicious food, snacks, and fun activities like the climbing wall and bouncy house.
The response from our guests was phenomenal. We are excited and hope to continue this honor for years to come!
