Senior Center Haircuts
“Did you know?
Evergreen Beauty College students stop by on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, from 9 – 11:30am, to offer free haircuts (first come; first service; no charge)” Cosmetology students were highlighted in the Golden Messenger for their donated time at the Carl Gipson Senior Center in Everett, WA. The center is located 3025 Lombard, Everett WA 98201.
Ms. Laurie, a cosmetology educator began organizing this regular visit starting in June of 2012 donating her time and encouraging 8 other hairdressing students to volunteer in the community and provide beautiful new looks for the elder community.
Now the students of Evergreen not only get more hands on practice, they get the joy of giving to a wonderful community, but every 2 months appear in the senior centers newsletter issues which they can use in for their portfolios as they graduate and look for work t show experience and the type of person they are.
