Bellevue Campus Announcement – Ceasing Operations

For Immediate Release

I regret to share with you all that our Bellevue campus must cease its operations this coming fall. The Landlords in Bellevue are selling the building and have chosen to not renew our lease. The Property Management notified us of a pending sale of the building, and as a result they will not entertain any lease extensions. Our lease ends on September 30th, 2018, and so in essence we have lost the lease and our ability to keep a school in Bellevue.

Unless things change, we cannot in good conscience continue to operate the campus in Bellevue, even with the recent progress and growth. With the sudden news, we must plan for Bellevue’s transition.

My mom, upon hearing the news, shared with our family, “Don’t worry, God has great plans for our future. Just remember when we were in Lynnwood and we thought it was the end of the world as they tore down our first beauty school and you can see; it was just the beginning of a new future which is now our beautiful Graduation venue.”

Our next steps and responsibilities will be to help support (and transition if necessary) all of our existing Bellevue students to complete before September 30th or find a home for them at one of our other campuses or nearby beauty school so they can complete their program.

This school has been in Bellevue for nearly 70 years, serving the community, the clients, and the students, and this is not an easy bit of news to accept. Our family took over this location 10 years ago, along with all of its history. Instead of just quietly closing the door, we will take time to share and cherish the clients, guests with a special farewell party or appreciation week as we wrap up with a bang in Bellevue. Stay tuned for details!

Please keep our Evergreen Family in your prayers during these next few months and that we come out stronger because of it. I firmly believe everything happens for a reason and there is a beautiful blessing that we will discover.
