Cosmetology Student Success Story: Taylor Hart

About Taylor Hart

Taylor Hart is someone who has always had her eye on the beauty industry since she was young. Before she made the decision to enroll into cosmetology school, she had been working in retail. After wanting some change, she confided in her friend about her dream. Taylor’s friend April went to Evergreen Beauty College in 2014, and encouraged Taylor that she should go, and follow her goal. Her dream was to do hair at a salon in Marysville Essential Earth Organic Salon. To get her to her dream, she began working front desk at her dream salon, and enrolled into Cosmetology school. After hearing friends’ experience with Evergreen Beauty College, she decided to make the leap and enroll.

The Evergreen Experience

After starting her program in June of 2021, Taylor found her strengths quickly. In the first couple months of her program, she was hands on with models to bring on more technical services, but still getting them done efficiently. When asked what she loves the most, she shared, “I like anything to do with blonding services, fashion colors, and make-up as well.” After she continues through her program, she’d love to learn more in-depth about extensions, and be able to expand her portfolio that way as well.

Throughout her schooling, she has been able to grow her blonding skills, and started to specialize in enhancing that. As far as assignments that have been helpful to her, she has been able to learn the most from her distance education hours, and bingo sheets on site. Bingo sheets allow future professionals to be able to focus on topics that are in each module.

The Next Step

Taylor expressed her excitement to graduate, as well as her career plans. “After I graduate, I plan to obtain my cosmetology license, and to perfect my techniques and speed while working at the salon that I currently work at.

Down the road, I may choose to open my own salon.” One thing that will help her expand her clientele and reach people from all walks of life is her knowledge of salon culture and how it works. “I have an advantage of working with clients not only in my school setting, but also where I work. I have a good understanding of salon culture and I love making people feel good about themselves.”

When asked if she had any advice for incoming students, Taylor expressed, “Never give up on your dream. Keep pushing yourself to learn something new every day. Learn from your mistakes and know that nothing worth having comes easy. Having a great support system helps and know that Evergreen Beauty College is always there to give additional support!”
