Digital Marketing Award: Haydee Sanchez

Our students are our pride and joy. Every month, we want to go out of our way to make sure that our students feel special. This month, we wanted to give a shout out to cosmetology student Haydee Sanchez! Haydee has been recognized for this month’s Digital Marketing Award.

About Haydee

All of our students come from different walks of life. Some of our students come from a long line of cosmetologists and salon owners, and others are so full of creative power, they just had to unleash it at school. Haydee shared with us her background and why she decided to pursue cosmetology.

“I’ve worked at a hair salon for several years as a receptionist so it’s always been inspiring watching what the stylists do and seeing the before and afters on their clients.”

We are so glad that Haydee found inspiration around her, and took her passion to the next level by pursuing an education in cosmetology. During her journey, Haydee mentioned that she felt that she was particularly good at hair coloring. This is what she had to say about her favorite part of the program.

“The color aspect of [the program] –specifically the formulation. You can choose endless colors but formulating differently.”

The Evergreen Experience

One part of cosmetology that we heavily emphasize here at Evergreen Beauty College is client communication. Gaining and maintaining clients is an important part of being successful as a beauty professional. We asked Haydee to complete the sentence, “Clients should book an appointment with me because. . .”

“Because I will make sure to give them their desired look without damaging their. I would rather do it in multiple sessions than just one time, which could be damaging to their hair.”

So, what sets Haydee apart from other stylists?

“I focus on what they don’t like about their hair currently, agree with them on a new look and make a game plan for the process. Even if I don’t know something, I’m willing to take on the challenge and figure out how to do it right. I will make the client feel comfortable even if I’m not 100% sure.”

The Next Step

Here is what Haydee wants to do after she graduates from Evergreen.

“Advanced training at Style Lounge in Maple Valley. It’s a really talented group of stylists and I’m excited to join them and learn their specialties.”

We hope that Haydee continues to learn and find success in the beauty industry. Haydee is graduating on January 25, 2017, so make sure to book with her before she goes!
