Master Esthetics Student Success Story: Mary Le-Maldonado

We’re privileged to share the success story of Ms. Mary Le-Maldonado, a Master Esthetician student from our Renton location. Building skills along with her outlook on the industry has Mary on her way to a successful career.

About Mary Le-Maldonado

Wellness as her focus, Mary shares with us why she choose the beauty industry. “The Esthetics program offers a career in which I can grow, thrive, and make a difference in the lives of others. I have the opportunity to promote wellness and make my clients feel great about themselves. Before I joined the Esthetics program, I was working in HR at Outset Medical. So when it came time to change routes, I looked into the beauty industry and one of the reasons I chose Evergreen Beauty College was because they continuously update their course content and the teaching methods to address new emerging trends. I have also compared other Beauty colleges and realized that Evergreen offers more theoretical and practical experiences than other colleges. For example, Evergreen Beauty College provides hands on experience with Lasers unlike some other beauty schools in the area.”

The Evergreen Experience

Since starting the Master Esthetics program with us Ms. Mary has shared some of her highlights of what she has enjoyed, what has helped her so far and what sets her apart from other estheticians:

“Since starting school I can say that I have enjoyed learning about different skin types and how to properly conduct a skin analysis the most. All skin types need proper cleansing, exfoliating and hydrating so finding the the right care for each individual can be challenging and exciting.”

“So far in school we’ve had different assignments but what has helped things click the most would be the hands on experience here with Evergreen Beauty College. I’ve even had the opportunity to get out of my comfort zone and meet new people! In addition, there are so many guest speakers that come onsite. This helps showcase a wide array of career paths for an Esthetician.”

“I have struggled with acne myself and know what it feels like to want good skin so any of my clients can rest assure that I am going to work hard to get the results that they want. Being transparent with my clients is important so I will never recommend any product that I do not believe in or that may not be truly helpful in reaching their skin care goals. As a future Master Esthetician, I will take the time to get to know my client’s concerns and needs and tackle them. I also enjoy being able to provide a relaxing experience or being that someone you can talk to while getting your treatments done. Whichever my clients prefers, it’s theirs! Giving them my undivided attention, and listening to them all while showing true compassion is something that will set me apart from other skin therapists in the industry.”

The Next Step

Mary is heading into the last half of her program but is already thinking ahead and is setting goals. “My ultimate dream is to open up my own day spa. Offering facials and facial massage, waxing, and body treatments that go above and beyond my client’s expectations. Not your average service! In order to do this, I know I will have to follow my own advice that I’d give to others and that is: ‘Sometimes the one thing you need for growth is the one thing you are most afraid to do. Don’t be afraid to get out of your comfort zone. The Esthetics program will challenge you and with that you will have the opportunity to make a difference’,” offers Mary.

Ms. Mary Le-Maldonado is set to graduate this next April 2020, and what better way to support her other than to stop by our Renton campus!
