Cosmetology Student Success Story: Carlynn Treise

Our Everett campus excitedly awards one of their cosmetology students, Ms. Carlynn Treise, this past month for focusing successfully on her brand. When you believe in the possibilities, and find the path you belong on, you can become something far greater than expected. With confidence, Carlynn is making her name in this industry. One client at a time!

About Carlynn Treise

While others search for their passion and direction in life, Ms. Carlynn knew what she wanted and wasn’t wasting time going after it. “It all started with my high school graduation. As I closed out that chapter of my life, I started onto the next by enrolling myself into beauty school. All within the same month. Choosing the Cosmetology program was an easy choice because I’ve always enjoyed doing hair on the people around me. To me, when my clients come in to get their hair done, I’m that stylist that wants to give them impeccable service, and a lasting impression of who I am and the work I do. I want all my clients to walk out feeling better than they did coming in. Loving hair and wanting to share that and my passion with others is what led me here to Evergreen Beauty College. The second I walked into this campus when I came to tour the facility, I felt like I was home. Everyone was so warm and welcoming. I knew I would never feel as happy anywhere else,” shares Carlynn.

The Evergreen Experience

Since starting the cosmetology program with us Ms. Carlynn has shared some of her highlights of what she has enjoyed, what has helped her so far and what sets her apart from other cosmetologist:

“Since enrolling, I can honestly say that I’ve been ecstatic about everything I’ve learned so far in my program, but there are two things that I’ve fallen in love with just a little more than the rest. I absolutely love doing balayage’s and perms. I love the instant gratification of doing those services and how effortlessly beautiful they both are.”

“The most helpful assignment for me has been a color wheel project I had to do in phase one. It really sealed in the importance of understanding color theory, especially in this career. It is the basis of being able to formulate color. There are so many aspects in choosing the right formulations in color services than people often think. It’s defiantly a science!”

“What would my strength be? Well, I would have to say how versatile I am. I’m confident in everything I do, and thusly I don’t have any specialties. I can completely rock every type of service I get booked. Personally I feel like my confidence is what sets me apart from other stylists. I don’t hesitate when doing hair because I know I have the skill set and training to succeed in whatever I do. Thanks to Evergreen, for giving me those tools and for preparing me to be able to do whatever I set my mind to! I think I give a pretty good scalp treatment too! I love to help my clients relax and enjoy their service. I think that when I can physically connect with my client, it bridges the gap to emotionally connect with them as well. People will be more open to talking with you when you make them feel physically comforted.

That emotional and physical connection really keeps them coming back. I care, and I think my clients can feel that,” Carlynn explains.

The Next Step

With graduation next month Carlynn shares what her next steps are, “To keep doing what I love, hair! I don’t have any solid plans or any specific salons in mind at the moment, but I know that wherever I go, I’ll be happy with what I do. As for now, my goal is to focus on finishing and completing my state boards.”

“As I finish my hours, I’d like to leave advice for the next cosmetologist student that will soon take my place on the floor here at Evergreen, ‘Be yourself, because you’re exactly who you were meant to be. Go in with confidence, don’t doubt yourself or your skills. Enjoy every moment because this is a once in a lifetime moment,” offered Carlynn.
