Cosmetology Success Story: Tayler Marinkovich

About Tayler Marinkovich

Ms. Taylor Marinkovich, a student from our Renton location comes from a little town in Montana called, Havre. As a child she originally inspired to become a veterinarian. After her mom sat down with her, she had asked Tayler if she would be capable of putting sick animals down when it was their time. Knowing she wouldn’t be able to do so happily, Tayler realized she’d need to find another path but was unsure of what that’d be. With something sparking her interest; sitting behind her mom who was French braiding her own hair, she became intrigued and wanted to learn herself. After practicing on her mom numerous times, she finally figured out how to do it on herself, which set everything into motion.

All through high school you could catch Tayler braiding everyone’s hair whether it was on the busses, at hotels or even on the bleachers. “I should have charged all the girls I’ve braided during school. I braided so much even my fingers hurt,” shared Tayler. In order to be something big in life, Ms. Taylor believes you have to make big moves. Working as a server in a Mexican restaurant, she didn’t see her life going anywhere in Montana. Picking up and moving to Washington was one of those ‘big moves’ needed in order to pursue a successful career in Cosmetology.

The Evergreen Experience

Ms. Tayler Marinkovich, a Cosmotologist student from our Renton location is helping clients bring the blonde for summer.

Ms. Taylor chose Evergreen Beauty College because of all the things that we offer to our students; from the Nuts & Bolts Business Training program to guest speakers and free community events. She also loved it when she found out that we’re a family owned business. So far into her program she personally enjoys everything about haircuts. Creating a new look, and the process taken to achieve its specific needs. There’s also nothing like removing the dead split ends which are huge in the transition to fresh healthy hair. “It’s a satisfying feeling” Taylor shares.

Strengths of Taylor’s in school have been highlighting, as this is a service she gets a lot of clients in for. So, resulting in more opportunity for practice, it has helped her skill set in this area. “Manipulating the hair to change colors is fun and I also love the end results,” Taylor says. An assignment that seems helpful for Ms. Taylor has been working on Bingos sheet’s which keep learned techniques fresh in her mind as our students may not always see clients regularly for certain serveries that aren’t as popular. None the less, keeping familiar with all techniques is important and her Bingo’s allow just that. This also helps keep her focused when she doesn’t have clients currently in her chair, and also provides another way for her to earn the required credits for program completion. What has set her apart from other stylist in the industry you may have asked, well, Tayler is someone that is open to all kinds of style and design. Eager to learn and try new things has kept Ms. Tayler excited for all services she gets booked with, and you can tell she’s grateful for each of them, as she knows it’s only helping her become more successful for this industry.

Although Ms. Tayler still has some schooling to do before hand she has already shared some words of advice for any incoming students, and that is “Stay busy. So when your done with your hours, your finished with your work and credits as well.” Great advice Tayler! Keeping that motivation is extremely critical for keeping on track in our industry.
