Where Esthetic Students are Finding Work Right Now

esthetics courses

If you’re an esthetician student nearing graduation, you might be wondering where you’ll be able to find work. Fortunately, there is a wide variety of opportunities available to you. We’ve come up with a list which will give you some ideas of where esthetician students are finding work right now.

At a Spa or Salon

A spa or salon is a popular choice for many esthetician grads. They’ll be able to put their recently learned skills and talents to work by providing facials and other skin treatments.

Finding a position at a spa or salon should be fairly easy once you pass your licensing exam. Just go online and search for “esthetician jobs.” You’ll find quite a few opportunities at spas or salons.

On a Cruise Ship or at a Resort

If you like the idea of traveling or living in a paradise-like location, consider applying for a position on a cruise ship or at a resort.

Cruise ships often have spas and salons on board to provide a luxurious experience for their guests. Resorts also usually have a spa or salon on the premises for that same reason.

A position on a cruise ship or a resort might be a little trickier to find, because there are fewer of them than landlocked salons and spas. However, with some searching and effort, you’ll find the position that’s right for you.

As an Esthetician Instructor

Do you enjoy teaching others? Being an esthetician instructor can offer you a rewarding career experience.

Esthetician instructors work at beauty schools or community colleges. They have to possess specialized licenses in order to teach students. Take a look at beauty school websites to see which instructor positions are open.

As a Licensing Inspector or Examiner

Most states require estheticians to be licensed. Esthetician students need to take a licensing exam, and those exams are administered by… licensed estheticians.

For this position, you’ll need to be certified by the state. Is your state looking for esthetician licensing inspectors or examiners? Check with your state’s Department of Health. Such positions will be posted on its website.

Sales Representative

There are so many spa-quality skincare lines out there. And they need sales representatives. Who better to sell skincare products to estheticians than another esthetician?

The skincare line will provide you with specialized training so you can best sell its products. This job requires frequent traveling. Talk to sales reps about any opportunities at their company – if the business is growing, it will be looking for new hires.
