Hair Design Student Success Story: Alena Sitnitsa

Ms. Alena Sitnitsa from our Bellevue campus has dabbled in many areas over the years so it comes to no surprise that she landed another accomplishment this past month by winning an award for her fierce digital marketing skills.

About Alena Sitnitsa

“Before I enrolled in Beauty School I was a Software Engineer and worked at the Belarussian University as a System Administrator. I also had studied Psychology for two years at Moscow University. When I moved to the USA, I decided to change my career focus because I didn’t enjoy programming. I have just one life, and a job is a big part of life. I tried to figure out what I wanted to do in life and that could be enjoyed at the same time. You see, I’m an artist inside: I love art, photography, music, and traveling. I also write poetry. My first poem song I composed was for my younger sister, when I was 7 years old. Some of my poetry has even been published in the Belarussian newspapers along with some of my articles about life culture in the USA were published in the Russian Washington web magazine. I also enjoy to making things with my hands. I love crochet and knitting. All my furniture in my apartment I built with my own hands. I also love people and I love to make them happy. Considering all this, I realized that Hair Design is the right profession for me. As time showed, it was a right decision. Being a Hair Stylist, I can find a job everywhere, so I can still travel. I have met a lot of interesting people throughout the years. Hair Stylist must also be good in psychology because you are not just doing hair, your communicating with people, listen about their problems and their happy moments. Mostly I love the feeling when people leave my chair happy and feeling beautiful! This being the biggest benefit for me.

The Evergreen Experience

“I like everything that has to do with hair: color, cutting, and even perming. I am a hardworking, attentive to the details and I like to grow. I was offered an opportunity to do volunteer work in the Church along with free haircut events that Evergreen had. Having these opportunities helped me because I had a lot of hands on practice, ” shared Alena.

Alena shared with us her reason for choosing Evergreen Beauty College, “I read a lot of good reviews on the Internet.” Evergreen prides itself in being transparent to the public. Areas of strengths and areas for continued focus. We are glad to hear that after doing your research Alena, that you entrusted EBC to guide you into the next milestones of your future career.

What sets Alena apart in the stylist crowd you may ask? “Everyone is different and unique,” states Alena. “I don’t know a lot about other stylists but I believe that everyone has their strengths and unique touch. I am still learning from my educators, classmates and other stylists and working on my own style. I always give 100% of my attention and skills to my client, no matter who and what service,” replied Alena.

The Next Step

Where to next? “Work, work, work and continue learning. I want to become a Master Stylist,” replies Alena. Alena has goals, and her goals will keep her advancing in her skills and knowledge until she reaches a status of ‘Master Stylist’. Master Stylist in itself exudes the ongoing learning and mastering of skills, especially in this industry that has constant change and growth.
