How to be successful in the cosmetology industry: It’s not complicated

Watch the above 3 1/2 minute video as Samantha Sauve (2014 International Business Student of the Year competitor) shares in a hilarious play off of a AT&T commercial key business lessons to ensure a successful career in the cosmetology industry.

Ms. Carner, one of her educators shared, “Samantha is very talented at helping others see their potential. She is a teacher at heart.  I’ve witnessed many times when she coaches her peers through their nervousness with guest encounters.   One student, Anthony, was extremely anxious with his first guest, and before I reached him on the floor, I watched Samantha guide him by asking a series of thoughtful questions. With the success that Samantha achieved as a senior student, she could have said ‘look at how I do it’ but instead, shared her belief in him and allowed him work successfully through it.”    It is examples like this that shows her embodiment of Nuts and Bolts Business Training Program’s ability to help others.

This ability is coupled with commitment.   Regardless of what goes on in her life, she is committed to her guests and classmates.   Earlier this year, her step dad passed away; while no one would have blamed her for being home, Samantha made a clear decision to attend school for half a day, and spend the other half day to support her family.

It was a beautiful testimony of her commitment to honor her father by building the future that he would have wanted for her and family.

There is a Turkish proverb that says “A good teacher is like a candle – it consumes itself to light the way for others.”  Samantha embodies this and am excited for her to build this industry with her talents, sincerity and humility.    It’s characteristics like this that has helped achieve a 64% up-service rate; people want to spend more time with Samantha.
