Tips and Tricks for Straightening Hair

Curly haired women all over the world are wondering how to straighten hair. Thankfully straightening curly hair is not that difficult. All it requires is a little time and patience.

How to Straighten Curly Hair at Home

There are two ways that one can straighten their hair at home. These are listed below.

1.  Blow Dry the Hair

Before hair straighteners became commonplace in homes, women used to blow dry their hair straight. Blow drying is a relatively simple procedure. All women need to do is wash their hair and dry it with a hairdryer. If they point the hairdryer downwards, the hair will be inclined to become smooth.

This process can be aided with a hairdryer and a hairbrush. Women who hold their hairdryer above their hair as they are brushing will achieve the best results. This is because the nozzle concentrates heat on areas that are being smoothed out by the brush. The downside of blow drying hair is that it takes a long time. Most women will need at least an hour to blow dry their hair.

2.  Use a Hair Straightener

Using a hair straightener is a relatively simple process.  Users should apply the object to bone dry hair. Once the hair is straightened, women can smooth out frizzy areas with straightening balm. While using a straightener is quicker than blow drying the hair, the heat emitted from the appliance can damage hair follicles. Due to this, experts recommend that women do not use hair straighteners on a daily basis.

Go to a Hairdresser to Straighten Curly Hair

Those who do not want to straighten their own hair can go to a salon. Hairdressers can blow dry the hair, use a straightener or chemically straighten the hair.

Getting chemical straightening is a big decision.  The results of this treatment are permanent. This means that women who get the procedure will need to live with their new look until their hair grows out. People who opt for blow drying or hair straighteners can choose to leave their hair curly whenever they wish. This option is not available with chemically straightened hair. It is also worth noting that chemical straightening can be quite expensive.

Most women want to straighten their hair at some point in their lives. If women are looking for an everyday look, they can style their hair at home. People who are getting ready for a special occasion may want to go to a salon for straightening treatments.
