TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academy Seattle Becomes Evergreen Beauty College

Seattle, WA – On December 4th, 2018, the leadership at TONI&GUY USA along with Evergreen Beauty College announced to the students at TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academy Seattle that there will be a change of ownership. Evergreen Beauty College (EBC) will be acquiring this campus and will lead the educational operations in 2019.

The Mascolo Family, owner of TONI&GUY USA, reached out to the Trieu Family, owner of Evergreen Beauty College, to explore this transition as they wanted a local group committed to supporting the students and staff in Shoreline, WA. TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academy Seattle opened this location in 2010. The Mascolo family, located in Dallas, TX wanted to ensure the students and staff had local resources and support, and believed a local beauty school group could provide it.

Evergreen Beauty College is based in the greater Seattle area with locations in Everett, Bellevue, Renton, Yakima and soon to be Mount Vernon. Evergreen Beauty College provides training in beauty education including: Cosmetology, Hair Design, Barbering, Esthetics, Master Esthetics, Nail Technology, Instructor Trainee and Make-up Artistry. It was a natural fit, with TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academy Seattle offering a similar training in Cosmetology, located 30 min south of Evergreen’s main campus and are both family businesses.

“I’m really excited for this direction. TGHA Seattle purchased Greenwood Academy before changing the name which brings back memories. My mom & father’s original salon was right down the street from Greenwood Academy and my mom knew many of the people there. Therefore, it brings our family great honor to be asked to carry on the baton.” stated Joe Trieu, President of Evergreen Beauty College shared, “The Mascolo family are leaders and role models in our sector; they have been extremely successful in the beauty industry, and also very successful in running a family business. It is incredible to see how they have transitioned an international business from generation to generation, with now the leadership is entrusted amongst the new generation of family and extended family. As part of the second generation in our family, it is exciting for my brothers and sister to work closely with the Mascolo family in this transition. We are very honored to be given this opportunity, and one that we take very seriously.”

Mama Thi Trieu, Founder of Evergreen Beauty College shares, “I was delighted to see at TGHA Seattle some of the staff members are previous Evergreen graduates. This was something that I prayerfully considered, and I feel we are called to be part of this community.”

“It has been a pleasure getting to know the Trieu family and learning about their values and goals for developing future professionals in the beauty industry and I am excited for what the future holds for our school.” says Courtney Verble, Academy Director of TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academy Seattle. Courtney has been with TONI&GUY USA for nearly 18 years. The last 8 years she has served as an Academy Director at their Scottsdale, AZ location and currently the Academy Director at the Shoreline, WA location. She will be completing her tenure with TONI&GUY USA and will be continuing on as the Campus Director with Evergreen Beauty College.

This transition for the location 18336 Aurora Ave N #103, Shoreline, WA 98133 is expected to close on January 1, 2019.

In the meantime, we wish to learn from both companies to improve our current systems and deliver a better beauty education.”
