The Climate
The East Coast is known for polar vortexes in the winter and horrific heat waves in the summer. You won’t encounter either of those things on the West Coast.
If you’re in our neck of the woods (the Pacific Northwest, to be exact), it rains between October and March. However, the mountains (and there are a lot of them up here!) capture most of the precipitation.
Between the late spring and early fall, you’ll find the Northwest is pretty dry. That means you don’t have to worry about your summer barbecues being rained out!
The Quality of Life
The Pacific Northwest offers a well documented high quality of life.” Why is that? There are a few reasons why people love living here.
First of all, the Pacific Northwest is gorgeous. Do you want mountains? We’ve got it. Are you a beach person? We have those here, too. And as we said before, the mild weather makes it possible to live a very active, outdoorsy life.
Let’s say the great outdoors doesn’t appeal to you. That’s okay, because the Pacific Northwest is known for its fantastic food and music. Washington State was the birthplace of two of this country’s most famous bands: Pearl Jam and Nirvana. And if you love coffee, there’s no better place than Seattle. Starbucks was founded here, although that’s most certainly not the only place in town.
It’s a Great Place for Beauty Devotees
If you’re interested in all things beauty, the Pacific Northwest is where you need to be. There are a number of up-and-coming cosmetics and health and beauty product companies located in this region. It’s also a haven for beauty schools, salons and spas.
