Cosmetology Student Success Story: Jenna Isaacs

About Jenna Isaacs

With a lot of hard work and the support from her husband, Mrs. Jenna was able pursue her passion within the beauty industry. “I moved to Washington from Arizona by myself after I graduated high school. I toured Evergreen Beauty College years ago and knew I wanted to attend school here. I got a job at a bar and through years of hard work, and the support of my husband, I was able to finally start school and begin working on what I am most passionate about,” shares Jenna.

The ability of being creative and loving what you do, helped Jenna decide Cosmetology was the right choice for her. “I chose Cosmetology because I love the creative freedom that comes with it. Ever since I was young, I was drawing tattoos on my arms and dreaming of brightly colored hair and I knew that I craved a career in which I could not only look how I always wanted to, but also help other people create their vision of themselves. Mrs. Jenna shares why she chose Evergreen Beauty College to get started towards her new goals, “I chose EBC because I had a couple friends attend the school and they both had great experiences. After touring it myself and hearing how the school was started, well it felt like an old family story, and I liked the overall vibe.”

Mrs. Jenna Isaacs, a Cosmetology student at our North Seattle location, created this beautiful balayage for her client.

The Evergreen Experience

Since starting the Cosmetology program with us Mrs. Jenna has shared some of her highlights of what she has enjoyed, what has helped her so far, and what sets her apart from other Cosmetologist:

“My favorite thing about the program is all of the hands-on work we do. I like that our school offers an incentive to get our friends and family to come in which let’s us practice on them. I am also grateful for the educators we have; specifically Ms. Jess, who puts in so much time and effort to help shape us into the best future stylists we can be. I have also made two lifelong friends within classmates, and am overall very happy with my experience in the school,” Jenna shares.

“Model Fridays were the most helpful assignment. It was relieving to have my first ever clients be hand chosen by me, which made me feel more comfortable with what I was doing. Color theory has also taught me a ton about color lines which has been nice soak in since I’ve started school.”

“My strengths have come out in blonding and vivid color services at this point in my schooling, but who knows what they may branch out too. I also love a good drastic color correction or a balayage with a bright money piece. I also took a big interest in waxing lately too.”

“I believe what sets me apart from other stylists is my desire to really want to make people feel like themselves. It’s important to me to translate my work into helping men, women, and non-binary individuals feel as authentically themselves as possible. I want to show people that you can have hand tattoos, funky haircuts, bold colors, etcetera, and still be successful.”

The Next Step

A gorgeous color created by Ms. Jenna leaves her client feeling vibrant and beautiful.

After graduation Mrs. Jenna already has set plans for her future within the beauty industry. “I plan on working in a local salon for a few years and then I’ll move back to Arizona. If I’m thinking long term, well, I want to open a salon and spa with my best friend, Laurel, who is an Esthetician,” stated Jenna excitedly. “As for my advice for incoming students? That would be to trust yourself, and your abilities. Also, being open minded to the things you think you won’t be interested in because it can open doors you may not expect. I had no idea I would like waxing the way I do, and I wouldn’t had known if I didn’t keep an open mind. Also, time here goes quickly so stay busy and book as many clients as possible.”

Sacrifice and hard work never fails. Congratulations on your success and hope you succeed on future endeavors. After years of hard work myself I finally landed a job that I am pretty satisfied with. I work for a company that specializes in WMS and YMS.
