Dramatic Makeup For A Fun Night Out

Getting dressed up for a big night on the town is often just as exciting as the rest of the evening. Most women enjoy creating a very dramatic makeup look for special evenings. Here are some makeup suggestions to help you look like a star.

Foundation for a Dramatic Look

Drama in makeup is created through contrast and strong color. Even a woman who never wears foundation in the daytime will enjoy wearing it in the evening. It is always important to choose the right foundation color that suits the skin coloring. A more dramatic evening look can be achieved when the foundation chosen is half a shade lighter than the skin color. This will create more contrast with the eye makeup and the lip makeup.

Eye Drama

Dramatic eye makeup is the most important part of creating an exciting look for evening. It will take several steps to achieve this. First, be sure to have your eyebrows properly shaped by a cosmetician. Use an eyebrow pencil or brush to make your eyebrows appear slightly darker than they are and create a strong frame for the eyes.

To make the eyes open up, the upper eyelashes should be curled with an eyelash curler before any mascara is applied. For a night out, you should apply three coats of dark brown or black mascara to the upper lashes. Some women will look better if mascara is also applied to the lower lashes. Most eyes will look bigger with a thin line of dark brown or black eyeliner applied close to the lash line on the upper lid.

Create an arc of dark shadow in the crease above the eye to frame the eyes, and then add a sparkly eye shadow in a lighter color on the bottom part of the upper lid. Apply a pale pink or ivory frosted shadow just below the arch of the eyebrow. Blend the area slightly with a cosmetic brush.

Lipstick

When creating a dramatic evening makeup look, it is important to make a decision whether to emphasize the lips or the eyes. If there is a lot of makeup around the eyes, the lips should not compete for attention. Instead, use a clear lip gloss in a red or deep berry color. This will keep the focus on the eyes.

If you are fascinated by the way that makeup can create so many different looks, you will love going to cosmetology school to learn even more techniques for applying makeup. The cosmetology field offers many opportunities for advancement and career success.
