Can I Attend Cosmetology School If I Have Kids?

Attending cosmetology school while being a parent is possible. But like any other endeavor, when you have children to care for, you should carefully plan your schedule and have a support system.

This article explores how Evergreen Beauty College offers flexible schedules, including evening and part-time classes, to accommodate students’ needs.

Balancing a cosmetology school curriculum as a parent

Getting a school diploma at a beauty school takes significantly less time than a traditional four-year college. Successful completion of cosmetology school is entirely attainable for students with children.

At Evergreen Beauty College, our professional cosmetologists, estheticians, and barbers are trained to offer individualized attention to each student. We believe that school schedules offering part-time classes during the evenings or daytime provide students with the time and flexibility to absorb the cosmetology school curriculum.

At many beauty schools, classes are scheduled three days per week, each lasting over 10 hours daily, which can be challenging when you have kids. At Evergreen, our EverFlex classes are just 4 hours a day.

Additionally, students can complete our accredited cosmetology school program in a little over a year to accelerate their cosmetology career paths and start earning a salary as soon as possible.

Parents attending school will have convenient access to online coursework and can complete their online assignments at their own pace.

Helping young parents become successful cosmetologists

Our mission is to help everyone, including young parents, feel like they have a fighting chance at a successful career in beauty. We understand the challenges that come with the juggling act of attending school while balancing class assignments, working, and raising young children.

At many other beauty schools, classes are scheduled for over 10 hours a day, three days a week, which can be incredibly demanding for parents.

But at Evergreen, we offer something different that is more accommodating to anyone needing to balance work and home life.

In addition to short days at school lectures, demonstrations, and gaining hands-on training at the on-campus student salon, we also provide online assignments that you can complete at your convenience. With morning, afternoon, and evening schedules, we fit into your life––we don’t expect students to rearrange their lives for us.

It’s a more compassionate and focused way to learn, preparing you daily for a career you’ll love. Each campus offers 2–3 different schedules.

Helping parents afford to pursue a career in cosmetology

Evergreen Beauty College assists students in applying for federal grants as part of their financial aid options. Students can schedule one-on-one financial aid appointments to get personalized assistance in completing their applications and exploring the available programs and work for each student.
