Diary of a Cosmetology Student, Part3

Kelsey XmasDiary of a Cosmetology Student

Part 3

So, January marks the beginning of a new year, and the beginning of my 4th month of school. I’ve really enjoyed this last month of class because we have been working on hair color application and formulation. I was really looking forward to this part, as I’ve always experimented with different colors in my own hair. It is a fun way to change up your look, either in a bold or subtle way. As a hair stylist, it is one of the most requested services and a great way to get return clients. So it is really important to be able to master color or lightener in order to give your customers exactly what they are looking for.

We’ve practiced on our mannequins to get the hang of it, and then we were able to practice on each other. A few classmates have changed up their hair and it was super fun to be a part of the process of getting the color they wanted. It’s very satisfying to see the end results. I’m feeling more confident in my abilities, although I am still a little nervous, but that will get better with practice. I’m excited to refine my skills and hopefully be able to wow my clients!
