Digital Marketing Award: Cindy Khuu
Congratulations to one of our May Digital Marketing Award Winners, Cindy Khuu, from the Cosmetology department at our Bellevue campus! Cindy will soon be on her way in the beauty industry as she just recently graduated! We at Evergreen are very excited for Cindy to take her state board tests, get licensed and become an amazing part of the wonderful world that is Cosmetology! Before she graduated, we were lucky enough to get to know what made her become interested in the industry, her experiences at Evergreen and what she plans to do in the future!
About Cindy
Ever since Cindy was a little girl, she has loved doing hair. Her sister and her used to play with each others’ hair all the time. That is where her passion for hair all began! During her time in school she discovered that she loves cutting and coloring hair. Ever since she found that out she said that, “It really inspired me to keep up to date on my technique and my passion to do hair. I love observing other stylists in their career.” Cindy is a cut above in the industry. She says “I make sure to help my clients maintain beautiful hair and keep their hair healthy and vibrant!”
The Evergreen Experience
As soon as you walk through the front doors of Evergreen, your experience begins. Everyone that attends our programs has their own story of why they decided on Evergreen for their future. Cindy heard 
wonderful reviews about the programs she was interested in. She also heard amazing things about our staff and educators. Another perk was that the location was close to her house!
Our Future Professionals are trained in a variety of services, treatments and products during their time at Evergreen. Cindy’s favorite things were the hands-on mannequin work and the model experience. Before they are out on our salon floor, our Future Professionals are required to bring in models for many different hair services so they can get real-world practice before they begin taking clients. Another part of her schooling she enjoyed was all of our events that we are a part of. She said, “The events that I have attended are really special to me because I can give back to the community by using my passion and skills.” That is such an amazing thing, Cindy!
The Next Step
Now that Cindy has graduated, we were curious about her next steps. She plans to start at a salon where she can maintain and update her education. She wants to make sure that she has the option to expand her knowledge in the industry. That is a wonderful thing! Her ultimate goal is to own her own salon in 5 years. It sounds like she is going to be very capable of doing that because when asked what sets her apart from other stylists she had this to say, “I am a very quick study and use my free time to further my skills and research hair techniques. I am great with time management, have a lot of customer service experience and a strong work ethic.” That sounds like many keys to success to us!
