Digital Marketing Award: Daria Ward
Evergreen Beauty College is pleased to recognize this month’s Digital Marketing Award. The student receiving this award is Daria Ward!
The digital marketing award is presented to a student who we believe has really put themselves out there on social media. While all of our students are impressive, Daria has caught our attention!
About Daria
Daria said that she had dreamed about cosmetology school long before she enrolled. She has had a passion for hair for quite some time.
“I chose cosmetology school because I have always had an interest in hair and beauty and had been contemplating it since the beginning of high school. Before cosmetology school I was working as a cashier at a retail job at the mall and soon realized that was not something I wanted to do forever.”
When Daria was asked about her strengths, she was modest.
“Hair cutting is my specialty. I have other strengths as well. I’m a team player and if anyone needs help I’m there. I don’t like just standing around doing nothing so if I’m not busy with a client I’m going to be helping someone else or cleaning.”
Her ability to work on a team as well as her understanding that hairstyling isn’t just cutting and coloring, but cleanup and maintenance, too, makes Daria a well-rounded and competent hairstylist.
We asked Daria why clients should book with her and she simply said,
“I love to make people happy.”
“I’m friendly and a good listener and sometimes you just can’t find both.”
We agree, Daria, that’s why we try to help students each achieve that. Students who can listen and reflect their client’s wishes make the best stylists!
The Evergreen Experience
“My favorite part of the program has to be hair cutting but I enjoy all of the other parts of the program as well. When I’m in the industry I want to do it all.”
Our courses undergo changes with the changes of the industry. We strive to make sure our students have the most up-to-date education.
Part of changing means listening to our students and their clients feedback.
“The hands on activities were the most helpful. I learn best by hands on so considering that’s how I learn the best it was a big plus for me.”
We are always glad to hear when students are thriving in our hands on environment. In addition to a hands-on segment, our courses feature business training.
“I chose Evergreen Beauty College because I saw that they offered the Nuts and Bolts program. After already planning to open up my own salon someday I thought it would be helpful.”
The Next Step
Goal setting is a part of a successful education. Our students reach for the stars! Daria mentioned her long term goal, “I am going to go to a salon and eventually I want to run my own.”
We think that goal is a great one to continue striving for in her beauty career.
Before Daria graduates in October 2016, we asked her to give some advice to our incoming cosmetology students.
“Work hard and ask lots of questions. The teachers are there to teach you and are very good at what they do.”
