Esthetics Student Success Story: Amanda Billick

About Amanda Billick

The journey to pursuing a career can take so many turns. Amanda Billick learned this right after high school as she made the move to relocate and seek a career as a freelance make up artist. This would eventually lead her to a dental office as a supervisor. On the outside it would appear all things had fallen in to place. However, “life is too short not to do something that I love.” After 2 years of thinking it over the stars aligned and Amanda enrolled at Evergreen Beauty College taking the Esthetics course.

The Evergreen Experience

Fueled by her personal passion for “being able to make people feel good” and selfcare, Amanda has found school a place where “they really care about me and are genuinely excited and supportive of my new future.” The convenience of the Evergreen campus and “where I work, I easily go from school to work.” Passion and logistics! Who would’ve thought these two would go together? They allowed Amanda to move forward and dive into the exciting opportunity to learn esthetics.

Amanda did a customized oxygen facial for her client.

The Esthetics program at Evergreen Beauty College introduces students to the world of facials, skin care and waxing to name a few. Amanda has found such joy in learning advanced facial treatments. She is “loving microdermabrasion, oxygen facials and chemical peels.” Seeing is believing, and once Amanda began to see results in just one treatment on guests’ skin, she realized the importance of a good skin care routine. “I have struggled for years with my own skin concerns and was inspired by my Esthetician. I use products in my facials that I use and love on myself and know from personal experience that they work.” The introduction to Esthetics also spotlighted other skills like waxing. “I have also really enjoyed waxing a lot more than I thought I would! It is something that just gives you instant satisfaction. I have been practicing a lot and want to get really good at waxing!”

There are so many elements that come in to play when building a business. Amanda has already shown she has what it takes! “My biggest strength within my program has been self- marketing. I have been able to consistently book clients and keep them coming back.” Her experience in customer service gave her a fearless attitude to connect and create relationships with clients. “I pride myself in my attention to detail and I am so blessed for support I have received during my time at school. Paying attention to detail” is the one thing, Amanda says, she incorporates into every appointment. She believes her ability to hone in to detail sets her apart and makes her appointments above and beyond client expectations. She says, “I am an absolute perfectionist and I make sure I do my very best job every time.”

The Next Step

Amanda performed a Microdermabrasion facial to help reduce fine lines on her client. These results are amazing!

At Evergreen we celebrate the different types of learners! Each student brings a different type of learning style from which they learn best. For Amanda, she learns “best by doing.” The hands-on learning has shown her that, “even if I’m nervous I won’t hesitate to jump right in and try something new.” This positive attitude has equipped Amanda to step into her 5 year plan with excitement and goal setting! She would like to take the Master Esthetician program in 2022 and move to a medical spa/office setting post licensing. “My 5-year goal is to open my own business and have my mom who is a doctor and brother who is a nurse work with me.“

When asked for advice that future professionals can use Amanda said, “change can be scary, but it’s the only way to grow. I have enjoyed school more than I could have ever imagined. If you want it, go for it!”

Amanda is estimated to graduate in October, 2021. If you would like to follow her on her journey as she finishes her program, her social media handles are: Instagram: @skinvestment.esthetics Congratulations Ms. Amanda! We are exciting to watch you continue to blossom in the industry.
