Evergreen Beauty College Places 1st in Cosmetology for 2015 International Business Student of the Year Competition!

RachelleJim Yates, Co-founder and CEO of Nuts and Bolts Business Training Company, based out in Yorba Linda, California flew to Washington this morning, Friday, February 19, 2016 to surprise Rachelle Lynn Finseth, a graduate from the Cosmetology program at Evergreen Beauty College in Renton. Yates personally recognized Finseth for placing #1 in Cosmetology for the International Business Student of the Year (IBSY) Competition for 2015.

This is the 8th annual IBSY Competition the Nuts and Bolts program has held. Every year, thousands of students around the world compete, and the best of the best are selected from each affiliated school to compete in the annual competition held in Long Beach, California. To be considered for this award, each applicant was graded on the following criteria:

  • Retail Sales
  • Up-Servicing
  • Average Ticket Amount
  • Customer Service

In addition, each applicant had to submit a 3-5 minute video illustrating their goals for the future, and how the Nuts and Bolts training helped shape them into becoming a successful professional of the beauty industry. Many amazing stories and emotions are heard during the competition presentations.

Yates’ favorite part about awarding students is, “seeing the excitement on their faces. It’s not easy to be nominated, far less to be #1. It’s not just about numbers… it’s about character, work ethic, focus and discipline over their whole time at school. It’s awesome to know that you can help bring that all out.”

Amidst the recognition and excitement, Finseth will be awarded in over $5000 in cash and prizes. First place winners receive a cash prize of $1000, membership to Associated Hair Professionals, five day ABC Cutting Course at a US Sassoon Academy of their choice, an OPI gift set, a Denman Products gift basket, products from Make-Up Designory (MUD), student scholarship from Sport Clips, a Shark Fin Shears student kit, and prizes from The Professional Beauty Association (PBA) that include a tote bag, professional products, a one year Professional Membership, American Salon subscription, and more.

Congratulations, Rachelle! We are so proud of you!
