“Real World” Beauty School Edition

What this short 4 1/2 min. episode playing off MTV “Real World” in beauty school starring Olivia Stockton (International Business Student of the Year nominee) as she shares how to be a PSer (problem solver) not a BSer.

Olivia was a member of our first Evergreen Beauty College Esthetics Class at our Renton Campus.   When she found out about Nuts and Bolts Student of the Month, she set a goal to not only be the NaB Student of the Month but also to represent Evergreen as the NaB Student of the Year.   Ten months later, I am proud to assist her through this letter to help her achieved her goal.

Beth, her educator shared, “Olivia is an incredible young woman.  She’s ambitious, determined and everything that she does, she does it to the highest standards.  When she heard about Business Student of Year, she did everything to achieve it.  In addition to offering exceptional customer service, retailing, and rebooking clients, she also took it upon herself to run promotions in her network to further build that clientele.   I remember once, she even convinced her ex-boyfriend to come in to get a service!  Now that’s true salesmanship … it is just a small indicator of how determined and creative she is.” Her educator went on to share that her fellow classmates were inspired by her success to step up and perform as well.

Although her success is commendable, what is even more inspiring is that she does this while balancing her role as a single mom of a special needs child. She is currently at Ulta Salon, building her business in both services and retail.   We are very proud of Olivia to represent our newest campus and setting the reputation for both Evergreen Beauty College Renton, WA and our family.

Please share your thoughts on the business skills needed to elevate our industry!
