Steal These Bright Nail Color Ideas

nail colorWhen it comes to nail art and nail color these days, just about anything goes. Even during the warm weather season, dark colors are still popular. Pastels are all the rage too, but what many women are showing off this season is brights.

Bold color either on its own or done up with geometric designs, textures and contrasts are all over the place.

Here are 10 ways to use bright nail color:

1. Tips and Glitter
This is a fun way to show off bright and sparkly color without being too much. Nails are polished clear, and tips are painted bright, think neon pink or coral. Just above the polish is a strip of glitter polish, just an accent. You can do all your nails like this, or leave one for a complementing design.

2. Just One
Another fun and subtle way to use brights is to polish nails a neutral color, only painting one finger on each hand a bright, fun color.

3. Cool Brights With Metallic Accents
Metallic is also a big trend this year, and it pairs beautifully with bright summer colors. Think a cool, bright coral with silver accents and designs. Very cute!

4. Half And Half
If you don’t want to commit your whole nail to a bright color, how about half? A fun and bold look, with half the nail color white, and half a bright pink, orange or aqua color. The sections are diagonal, creating a bold, geometric design.

5. Textures
Monochromatic brights with varying textures look amazing. One popular technique is combining matte and gloss nail color on the same nail, perhaps in a pattern. This adds interest and looks impressive.

6. Rainbow colors
Be playful with a rainbow of bright colors. Who wants all their nails to be the same color when you can show off several? You have ten fingers so why not paint them each a different tone? This is also seen with multiple colors done on the same nail. This can be done with a bold chevron pattern, which looks great.

7. Ombre
The Ombre nail color look is still going strong. A graduated blend of bright to light, ombre is sophisticated and beautiful.

8. Polka Dots
There are a number of ways to do this. White polish with a polka-dotted accent nail. Or bright pink or aqua nails with one white nail accented by same-color dots.

9. Neon with black flower silhouettes.
This is a charming combination that really stands out. Black flowers, patterns or any design, really stand out against neon or brightly-hued nail color.

10. What Colors To Use?
Just about anything goes. Some colors that are trending right now are bright coral, aqua, yellow and neon colors of all shades. Accents in black or white create a bold contrast.
