Esthetics Student Success Story: Kira Brumley
About Kira Brumley
Before Kira Brumley decided on the world of Esthetics, she was pursuing a career in Interior Design. She has always wanted to put herself into the beauty industry but felt external pressure to attend a traditional college. After finding that Esthetics and interior design had similarities, so she took the plunge and started looking into beauty colleges around her. Kira thankfully knew a lot of Evergreen Beauty College graduates that have enjoyed their experiences there and decided to enroll into the Esthetics program.
The Evergreen Experience
Throughout her program, Kira has found that she loves connecting with clients and allowing them to find happiness through their skin and beauty. “I love having the ability to help people achieve their skin goals by finding products and a skincare routine that works for them,” she shared. She also found that she was in a group of strong individuals within her starting class that challenge each other to grow and learn from difficult experiences.
When working on clients, Kira has found that she has found a love for brow mapping and waxing. However, as she goes further into her program, she expressed that she is eager to add lash extensions to her list of specialties. When asked what she has found the most helpful in school, Kira shared, “I have found that taking actual clients in the spa has been especially beneficial because it gives me and other students invaluable industry experience. Not only that but working in the spa gives Evergreen students a realistic expectation of what working in a spa environment is like.”
The Next Step
Kira is always looking to step up her game and is always looking for ways to be attentive to her clients and their needs. “I want to give my guests the service and the experience they desire! That all begins with communicating with your guest and accommodating them accordingly.” Kira is always looking for ways to be more welcoming and positive with her guests, and they have in turn expressed their appreciation for her craft.
After she graduates from her program, Kira wants to focus on lash extensions and brow services. “My long-term goal is to open my own business. However, short term, I plan on working for an established spa.” When asked what advice she had for incoming students, she shared, “Make as many connections as you possibly can, whether that be with potential clients or people in other areas of the beauty industry.”
Kira is slated to graduate this upcoming August. If you would like to follow her journey for the remainder of her program, you can check her out on Instagram at @celestial.skin.care! Congratulations Kira! We wish you all the success!
