Cosmetology Student Success Story: Brittney Delquadri

Our Yakima campus awarded Ms. Brittney Delquadri this past month as she creates successful tools for building her business. Education is key and Brittney takes it seriously!

About Brittney Delquadri

Among the motivated, Brittney creates the pathway to her future and sets forth on that journey. “I chose to follow a path I loved. Enrolling in cosmetology with Evergreen Beauty College has been in the works since before I even started my senior year of high school. Originally, I was doing online schooling through a program called graduation alliance. My educators at the time, Dick and John, encouraged me to pursue schooling through a professional beauty school here in Yakima. I wasn’t even aware it was an option and knowing it was something that I loved, I started looking into ways to use the credits I had earned so far from cosmetology to jump back into high school so I could graduate along with my class of 2018, and I made it happen! June 2nd, I graduated from East Valley high school and a week after my 18th birthday I had enrolled myself into Evergreen and here I am today with only 5 months away from becoming a licensed cosmetologist!” shares Brittney.

“Have you ever heard, ‘If you do something you love, you never have to work a day in your life?’ I believe it! Everything just fell into place, it was God’s calling for me to be in this industry and he opened up the way for me to make it happen. Starting from my yv-tech program and the cosmetology course I had started out with my close friend, Lexie Walker, handing the admissions counselor with Evergreen my number,” Brittney adds.

The Evergreen Experience

Since starting the cosmetology program with us Ms. Brittney has shared some of her highlights of what she has enjoyed, what has helped her so far and what sets her apart from other cosmetologist:

“Everyday I have something different to learn and I love it! Everyday I have someone coming in to the school wanting something different and I have to learn it! I’ll never be hostage to a boring life. Cosmetology is constantly evolving, whether its because of different people, styles or technology. I’d say it’s my favorite part of school, always learning and never staying stagnant!”

“Demos have been the most helpful to me in school so far!! Also, having Joico and Johnny B classes have taught me things that I thought I already knew but found out I didn’t prior to them.”

“We have learned so many different techniques and different skill sets but I feel my area of strength is my ability to listen to my clients, take the skills I’ve acquired to recreate their vision. There’s no better feeling than when I nail a look and my clients leave with hugs, tears and smiles. It just reassures your on the right path! I’d also say my creativity, I’m always eager to learn new techniques,” stated Brittney.

“Offering my clients convenience is something that will set me apart for other stylist. I want to be on the cutting edge of everything: color, cuts and styles so I have that advance knowledge to offer them. Being adaptable and respectful while recreating the vision they have when they walk in is my first priority,” shared Brittney.

The Next Step

We asked Brittney what her plans where after school and she states: “I am going to be an active cosmetologist working in the industry while I continue my education. My goal is to learn psychology, and to always excel and educate myself in the beauty industry. For example, I’m intrigued by skin. Whether it’s becoming an esthetician, dermatologist or maybe even learning some massage therapy. The possibilities are endless when it comes down to  advancing my education,” said Brittney.

“As my program is nearing the last part of its curriculum I’d like to offer advice for the students to come, ‘This isn’t high school anymore, we are all grown adults. Some of us with jobs or families, chasing dreams. Attendance, dedication and drive is a must! This isn’t a college class where simply passing test and paying the bill will excel you further. This is a swift fast paced course teaching you the foundation to build off of. Take it seriously because it’s someone’s hair your working on, and with one misstep can be the difference from a bad or good day!” advises Brittney.

Ms. Brittney Delquadri is set to graduate this coming May 2019 and what better way to support her other than to stop by and see her at our Yakima campus!
