Diary of a Nail Tech Student |Miss Mimi The Great|
When you decide to be a nail technician student at Evergreen Beauty College, Miss Mimi, your nail tech instructor is the first face you’ll see at 8am when you walk into school. Miss Mimi has been in the beauty industry doing hair and nails for twenty-eight years and has been with Evergreen Beauty College for four years as a cosmetology and nail tech instructor. Her method of teaching is catered to each individual student, which is great for myself, as a person who is a complete visual learner. She is a caring warm soul with a big sense of humor that loves all her students like her own children. Miss Mimi evokes what Evergreen Beauty represents — helping you become the best you working in the beauty industry. I feel very lucky to have met Miss Mimi and my days will be a little less bright when I don’t get to drive her nuts and make her laugh on a weekly basis. My honest and true hope is that I can make her proud while years get added to my experience in the nail industry and hopefully gain a few professional achievements. If you have, or maybe get the chance to be her student, you leave being a confident professional that is prepared for what’s next but most of all you come away from Miss Mimi a better person. What’s better than that?
As this is my last blog, since my time here at EBC is coming to a close, I hope the few blogs I wrote opens the door a bit on what life is like here at school, and to not be afraid to take a chance at what you love doing. The nail industry is quickly changing into a respected artist profession and it is not until we ask and show what we want respected.
Come and play, but most all come and be you.
We have big dreams too… ours are just a bit sparkly.
Love your distracted nail technician,
Megan Rainwater
