Digital Marketing Award: Nguyen Khuu
Congrats, Nguyen Khuu! You’ve been named this month’s recipient of the Digital Marketing Award! Nguyen is one of our talented cosmetology students. We love to see our students learn and grow as they go through our programs, and we believe that Nguyen has gone above and beyond proving her passion for cosmetology.
About Nguyen
All of our students are unique. Evergreen students come from a variety of backgrounds and have a variety of interests. We asked Nguyen to share why she decided to enter the beauty industry, and what she thinks her strengths are.
“I chose the hair industry because I want my clients to look beautiful and happy. My passion is to make that happen for people, so cosmetology school was my decision. Before enrolling in this program, I was a high school grad.”
“I am hardworking and definitely have a passion for what I learn and practice. I also keep improving my skills and knowledge to not be left behind in the industry.”
We think that being a hardworker is a great trait to have, especially in this fast-paced industry. You must be willing to continue to work and learn throughout your entire career. Another important attribute to have as a stylist is being approachable. Here at Evergreen Beauty College, we teach business skills like sales and client retention. We asked Nguyen to share what sets her apart from other stylists, and why clients should book with her.
“I am standing behind the chair, not only to help them feel good about themselves, but to enjoy the good service I provide. I provide a comfortable experience for my clients, and I am getting customers to come back regularly, and I am bringing new customers in.”
The Evergreen Experience
“Evergreen Beauty College gave me a lot of opportunity to follow up with my career. Especially the student volunteer event about giving in our community to people who’re in need. Also, the instructor and staff of EBC are very helpful and supportive.”
We’re glad that she enjoys the volunteer events that we do as a school! We believe that this gives our students something else to put on their resume. Practical skills are a must, but being a giving person can give you a little extra sparkle!
In order for us to continue to grow as a school, we ask our students to give us feedback on our programs. We asked Nguyen about her thoughts on the most helpful part of the cosmetology course.
“I like cutting the most because after each haircut I am satisfied upon the completion of the work by hands on experience at Evergreen Beauty College. I think the most useful part was the Nuts and Bolts program because it was very helpful for me. I come from another culture, so it’s good to know and learn more about how everything in this industry in addition to the hands-on practical.”

The Next Step
We asked Nguyen what her goals for the future are, and this is what she had to say.
“I want to work for a local salon and get paid a deserved salary. If things go well for the next 5 years I want to become the owner of my own salon.”
We are so happy that she is looking and working toward the future. It’s important to us to help our students set goals. We believe that creating the habit of goal setting can create successful professionals in the future! Nguyen is set to graduate in August of 2017, so book soon to get in with her at our student salon and spa!*
