Fixing Split Ends Without Cutting Them

Split ends are the bane of existence for many that have long hair or even for those with short hair. Finding out how to fix split ends is a great way to get split ends looking great without sacrificing length or volume in hair. There are a few different ways that users can both prevent and remedy split ends that do not involve a haircut but that garner much of the same benefits. Following any of the tips included here can make all the difference when dealing with split ends.

Fixing Split ends Using Serums

Though using serums may seem like the best option, using these products can add to the troubles. Using something like a split end serum that is supposed to bind the ends back together can end up in depositing residue on strands that can in effect make them weaker. Using tons of products to help remedy split ends can end up being expensive and may not help in the long run. Using a split end remedy that is deep conditioning for example can help to strengthen the hair shaft and may even help to rehydrate split ends.

Styling Tools

It is important that when working to remedy and to prevent split ends that users try to use less heated styling tools. If styling tools are necessary however, it may be beneficial to use tools that have a cool setting or to use a heated styling product to help protect strands from intense heat. Using a spray or cream that creates a protective barrier around the hair shaft is the best way to continue use of styling products without damaging hair. Some styling tools claim to bind split ends with intense heat but these should be avoided as they can damage the rest of the hair shaft.

Conditioning

Using conditioner every time your hair gets wet is the best way to prevent and to help control split ends. Using conditioner when hair is wet is the best way to protect and to help prevent split ends. Using a conditioner that has keratin or other hair building ingredients can help add body, shine, and strength to hair and can help to prevent the spread of split ends.

Though there is no real remedy for getting rid of split ends without cutting them off, there are ways to halt the process until hair is long enough to cut off the split ends. Once an end is split there is essentially no way to repair it but there are plenty of ways to stop the splitting and to help strengthen hair to stop future damage that may occur due to everyday use or styling tools that may be used every day.
