How to Start Your Own Mobile Hairdressing Business
The beauty industry is worth billions; however, if you want a share of the cherry, you’ll have to start your own business. If you are short on cash, you can start with a mobile hairdressing business, and then move on to a permanent business premise. The first step to starting a mobile hairdressing business is to get the required training. Join a cosmetology school and take the course that best suits you.
How to Start Your Own Mobile Hairdressing Business
Before you start a mobile hairdressing business, you should first get your cosmetology license. Licensing requirements vary from one state to another, however, most will require that you complete a set number of hours in school.
There will be a written and practical exam where hairdressers are required to cut, style, and color at the very least.
Register The Mobile Business
Once you get the certification, you can now legally start your business by means of registering the company. You may also need an employer identification number (EIN) which will represent your business as you submit taxes to the IRS.
Insure Your Mobile Hairdressing Business
Before doing anything else, contact an insurance company to obtain liability insurance. There may be clients who will sue your business when they have complaints. Insuring your business will protect it from losing money in case someone decided to sue you.
Gather The Essentials
Make sure that you have scissors, hairdryers, combs, flat irons, brushes, shampoos, and all the other tools required. Remember to keep a list of your inventory every week or month to know whether you need to
Connect With Clients
For a few weeks to a few months, your business may not be as strong as the competition. In fact, it may be difficult to get a client. Placing an ad or two can help get your business gain exposure. If you treat them correctly and properly, they can become your patrons.
It is important to look for a good beauty or cosmetology school that places an emphasis on real hands-on applications. With the advances in delivery and styling methods, the school should teach the students how to use innovative and contemporary techniques. Cosmetology training can open doors to an amazing career and even help as you create your own business.

Can this be done in any state?
I am not sure if it can be done in all 50 states, but there are a number of states that have Mobile Service provisions, such as in Washington State.
