Master Esthetician Dream Job

Manifesting Dream Master Esthetician Jobs

“Manifesting,” or bringing your hopes and dreams into reality, is so deeply associated with new-age thinking that it’s easy to forget it has a practical side too. Yes, energy healers and psychics may talk about manifesting as a vague spiritual practice. But manifesting your dream master esthetician job is something you can do by following concrete steps.

If you just got your master esthetician license, here are three tips for manifesting the perfect job for you.

Focus on What You Want

While most master estheticians work in spas, many work in medical spas, wellness centers, resorts or even cruise ships. Whether you’re about to graduate from esthetician school or have just graduated, do your research to learn about the specifics of working in each setting. Read informational blog posts such as this one. Conduct informational interviews, where you ask master estheticians about their daily routines and the ins and outs of their jobs. Talk to as many people in the field as you can.

Even people who have landed their dream master esthetician jobs will admit that nothing is perfect. But pay close attention to what the estheticians you are speaking to like and dislike about their jobs. Some opportunities will seem more fun and interesting to you than others. That’s a good thing. The clearer a sense you have of what your ideal job is, the easier it will be for you to seek it out.

Once you’ve settled on your dream job as a master esthetician, seek out those kinds of opportunities. If you want to work in a spa, introduce yourself to local spa owners. Network with master estheticians you know who already work in such places. Your esthetician school probably has a dedicated career placement office, so reach out to them for help as well. Your success is your school’s success too.

Some master estheticians operate their own practices. If this is your goal, it is possible. However, most master estheticians who are independent or business owners have worked in a more traditional setting first. It’s the best way to build a loyal client base and learn what running a business entails. So don’t lose sight of this dream, but understand that it is probably a long-term goal, not an immediate one.

Be Open

At a glance, this might sound like the direct opposite of focusing on what you want. Yet the two steps are entirely compatible.

Within the category of the master esthetician job you’re looking for, it’s important to be open to new opportunities.

The beauty of networking that you might be connected to people and jobs you aren’t even aware of yet. If you know you want to work in a spa, it’s okay to have a specific one in mind. Yet there may be an even better spa in the next town that you haven’t heard of.

Being open to unforeseen opportunities within your desired category of job creates more possibilities. Talk to people you already know and people you don’t. If there’s a spa or company you’re dying to work for, reach out.

Also, understand that the employer at your dream place of work may want a degree of flexibility. For instance, many master estheticians want to just do facials. Yet employers are more likely to hire them if they are willing to perform waxing services as well. You may not be open to this. That’s okay. But if you can be flexible without losing sight of your primary goals, you’ll find it easier to land a great job.

Believe in Yourself

Hey, you worked hard to become a master esthetician. You should be proud. Let potential employers see your confidence and passion for esthetician work. Before your first job interview, practice with a friend or loved one. Any employer will want to see how you’d interact with clients, so let your warm, friendly, professional personality shine.

Above all, remember: You’ve got this.
