Halloween Hairstyles to Bring Joy to Your Inner Creature

halloween hairstylesHalloween hairstyles are a great way to dress up and let your creativity show. Use your hair as the perfect accent when it comes to assembling the complete costume. Here are some of our favorite Halloween hairstyles, with a little something for everyone.

The Medusa

Liven up those long locks for that “killer” look. Embody the Greek mystery of Medusa by adding some gold-colored, rubber snakes in a hat-like fashion. Let the snakes drape down amongst your tresses and then highlight with some temporary green spray-on hair dye. Pin things together with clips and pins as needed.

The Full Zombie

We just love this curler-filled look. Take large velcro curlers and roll up your whole head as if you were actually going for large waves. Make sure to leave things messy and not too tight – you’re going for that slept on look. Accessorize with your favorite zombie makeup and you’re ready to go.

Downtown Abbey

Live like the upper class by dressing as Lady Mary Crawley of Downtown Abbey. This one takes a little more effort, but it’s worth it. Part hair down the center and twist one side so it sits low behind the ear. Attach at the nape of the neck with pins and spray (be liberal with the hair spray). Repeat this step with the other side and secure the hair with complimentary twists at the nape of the neck. Use product to smooth down flyaways strands and pins to secure loose hairs.

Effie Trinket

Get some Capital style by modeling Effie Trinket from the Hunger Games. The great thing about this style is that with her changing tastes, you can model whichever color suits you best. Go for the platinum look, or model a spray in color like fuchsia. Create tight curls by using a small curling iron or old-fashioned curlers if you have the time. Pin, separate, and set these curls in a halo around your head and top with a stylish fascinator.

Betty Boop

For jet black and dark brown hair, Betty Boop offers classic style. Use a large curling iron or velcro curlers to create loose waves. Take the time to tousle and make these curls a little messy, and set with a light gel or hairspray. Add the signature over the top makeup and a tiny little dress to complete the looks and you’re ready to go!
