Helpful Hints for Makeup Storage

One of the most difficult things for anyone that buys makeup is figuring out how to properly store it or to create makeup storage for products that may be a bit pricey. In the world of makeup, as with many other things, the best products are generally a bit higher cost than others and as such it is important to keep these products in tip top shape for as long as possible.

Makeup Storage Tips

The first and most basic of any makeup storage tip is to keep all products dry, and if possible, upright. Keeping items dry is the best way to insure that they last much longer and keeping them upright prevents spills, cracks, and other breakage that may affect the value or usefulness of a product.

Keeping Items Upright

Keeping items like brushes upright can also prevent the bending or breaking down of bristles and can help these items keep their shape far longer. For another helpful brush storage technique, users can also purchase or make a brush mat. A brush mat is essentially a flat piece of either cloth or bamboo sheeting that has elastics built in to hold the brushes in the correct position. The mat is then rolled up to help keep the bristles and handles of the brush safe and in the perfect shape.

Storing makeup items like palettes can be a bit more taxing than something like a small pot eyeshadow and as such it is important that users find a convenient and comfortable way to store them in order to keep them looking great. Keeping palettes in a pile or upright to prevent breakage is the first step. With a palette, it is almost always easiest to store palettes that are of like size together to help keep their integrity and to prevent dropping and other issues that can break up shadows.

Organize By Product

Finding ways to organize makeup as well as store it also another way to get the most out of the products that you purchase. Using a system that divides makeup into a few different storage categories can make all the difference. Also, keeping like products like blushes and shadows together can help determine the best way to store these items. Liquid foundation needs to be upright, away from light and heat, and in a place where the temperature is relatively stable. Using organizational and storage tools that are intended for other uses is another great way to get makeup organized. Office drawers, crating containers, and even things like tool boxes are a great way to keep makeup safe and organized no matter where you end up keeping them.
