Keep it Simple

Nail art doesn’t need to be complicated. Create an understated look by playing with traditional and unique Halloween colors. A black manicure with an orange chevron accent nail is simple but sure to keep you in the holiday spirit. Add to your look by topping your black base with polka dots. Use the typical orange and white colors, or add in lime green and purple dots for a fun design.

Mummify Me

There are several ways to create mummified nail designs for Halloween. One method is to create imperfect lines. Start with black nails. Then, use a dotting tool and white polish to make two mummy eyeballs on the nail. Use the dotting tool to drag thin lines of mummy wrapping above and below the eyes. For a slightly more complex design, create crisp lines. Use thin striping tape on the black nails, making a crisscross pattern. Paint the nails white, then remove the tape. Use the dotting tool to create the eyeballs.

Craving Candy

Make a simple, sweet treat on your nails with white, orange, and yellow polish. Start with the white polish, covering the entire nail. Create a band of orange polish in a horizontal stripe on the middle of the nail. Finally, put a horizontal band of yellow along the top of the nail to complete your candy corn. To make your nails look even more like their candy counterpart, finish the look with a matte topcoat.

Bloody Nails

What’s creepier than dripping blood? Creating the look of dripping blood on your nails is easy. Start with a white base. With red polish, make a french tip on each nail. Use a dotting tool to make four dots with the red polish, just below the red tips. Drag the dots into the tip, using the dotting tool.

Glam and Vamp

Classic nail designs for Halloween can be created by choosing dark, vampy shades. Channel your inner vampire by doing an ombre effect with a medium shade of red, a darker red, and a black polish. Use the lightest shade to cover the entire nail. With a makeup sponge, sponge on the darker red polish, starting near the middle of the nail. Repeat with the black polish, sponging the color on the tip of the nail. Use a clear topcoat to even out the gradient. Finish with a glitter top coat to add some sparkle.

Ranging from simple to complex, there are nail designs for Halloween that anyone can try. If you’re ready to take your nail art skills to a new level, consider enrolling in nail technician courses at Evergreen Beauty College.
