Going to class and working in a salon is a lot of work. With learning new techniques, talking to customers, and going through the same motions all day every day, it’s no wonder that you would be worn out. Want to keep living each class to the fullest? Use these tips to give yourself an extra boost every day!

    1. Get Enough Sleep
      As a student, this is probably one of the hardest things to do. However, getting a good night’s rest will not only help you get up on time but will leave you rejuvenated to face every day with a fresh face. Customer service is an important part of any career in the beauty industry, and being well-rested will help you face each day with a smile.

    1. Eat Right and Drink Water
      Eating right doesn’t have to be ordering a salad every time you go out to eat. Instead, find little things to add a touch of healthy eating to your diet. Choose to eat oatmeal with fruit instead of spoonfuls of sugar. Also, drinking lots of water while working goes a long way.

      Staying hydrated helps keep your body moving smoothly for longer.

    2. Stretch and Exercise
      Standing for long periods of time and doing the same thing over and over again with your hands can really hurt your joints and back. To try to avoid some of the pain that comes by starting each day with some stretches. Check out this amazing video to give you an idea of what you can do!

      This is an especially important tip for those who want to work as a hair stylist. Many times, customers look to their hair stylists as therapists and may or may not talk about their problems. Listening to these problems can get tiring, so make sure to take time to meditate and relax. Remember, as someone in the beauty industry, you’re not a therapist, and you don’t have to be!

      If you plan to be working in the beauty industry, chances are, you’ll be on your feet. A LOT. Take the time and money now to invest in a good pair of non-slip shoes. Good work shoes don’t have to be clunky and gross. Instead, find a cute pair of shoes that are both comfortable and stylish!

      Is a long list of appointments stressing you out? Maybe you have a lot of assignments to get done. Take a little time to get organized. Organize your tools so you can find them. If necessary, clean your tools so the next time you start cutting someone’s hair, you’re ready to go. Preparing for each day can take a lot of stress out of each day.

    You might find yourself doing the same thing every day learning how to enter the beauty industry. Finding a hobby, such as knitting, can help your hands do something else and will add something different to your routine.
